Tired of ineffective workouts that sound great but produce less-than-optimal results? Turn to the P90X Extreme Home Fitness system, a bundle of 12 sweat-inducing, muscle-pumping workouts designed to transform your body from regular to ripped in just 90 days. Hosted by personal trainer Tony Horton, the series of DVDs will help you get lean, bulk up, or grow stronger, with an endless variety of mix-and-match routines to keep you motivated. The secret behind the P90X system is an advanced training technique called "muscle confusion," which accelerates the fitness process by constantly introducing new moves and routines so that your body never plateaus and you never get bored. The more you confuse the muscle, the harder your body has to work to keep up. And the more variety you put into your workout, the better and faster your results will be. By breaking old routines and opening new doors, secondary and tertiary muscles are constantly being activated and developed. In addition to the 12 DVD workouts, the P90X comes with a comprehensive three-phase nutrition plan, specially designed supplement options, a detailed fitness guide packed with valuable information on how to get the most from your program, a How to Bring It DVD that provides a quick overview of the system, a calendar to track your progress, online peer support, and much more. The DVD Workouts Each of the 12 highly diverse and intense DVD workouts focuses on either a specific set of muscle groups or a unique training technique. - Workout One: Chest & Back. This superset chest-and-back-blasting workout emphasizes two classic upper-body exercises--push-ups and pull-ups--to build strength and develop shape. The combination of these two push and pull movements will help you burn loads of calories while simultaneously attacking, strengthening, and developing multiple muscle groups.
- Workout Two: Plyometrics. Get ready to go airborne. Offering more 30 explosive jumping moves, this intense cardio routine will keep you in the air most of the time. Plyometrics, also known as jump training, has been proven to dramatically improve athletic performance. If your sport involves a ring, rink, field, court, or track, this training will give you the edge. Just be prepared to "bring it" for a full hour when you leap into this workout, because there is no letting up.
- Workout Three: Shoulders & Arms. Nothing rounds out the perfect physique like a pair of well-defined arms and shoulders, and with its potent combination of pressing, curling, and fly movements, this routine will leave you feeling stronger and looking sexier. Whether you want to build muscle mass or just slim and tighten what you've already got, these targeted shoulder and arm exercises will give you the results you want.
- Workout Four: Yoga X. Yoga is a vital part of any fitness regimen, and is an absolute must for an extreme program like P90X. This routine combines strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and breath work to enhance your physique and calm your mind. Yoga X will leave you feeling energized, invigorated, and maybe even a little enlightened.
- Workout Five: Legs & Back. Get ready to squat, lunge, and pull for a total-body workout like no other. While the main focus of this workout lies in strengthening and developing the leg muscles (quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves), there are also a handful of great pull-up exercises to give your legs a quick breather while you work the upper body.
- Workout Six: Kenpo X. Kenpo X was created to give P90X users a high-intensity cardiovascular workout packed with lots of punching and kicking combinations to improve balance, endurance, flexibility, and coordination. During this workout you'll learn some of the most effective ways to defend yourself, while at the same time getting your body in peak condition.
- Workout Seven: X Stretch. Stretching is the one thing that will help you achieve a higher level of athleticism over a longer period of time. The X Stretch routine is an integral part of the program, as it helps prevent injuries and avoid plateaus. The extensive full-body stretches that make up this routine use disciplines from Kenpo karate, hatha yoga, and various sports to ensure that your body is fully prepared to meet all P90X challenges head-on.
- Workout Eight: Core Synergistics. Each and every exercise in the Core Synergistics workout recruits multiple muscle groups to build and support the core (lumbar spine and trunk muscles), while at the same time conditioning your body from head to toe. Loaded with a variety of fun, unique, and challenging exercises, this routine will get you moving in all directions to maximize your P90X results.
- Workout Nine: Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps. Packed with an array of moves that target both large and small muscles, this workout will do wonders for your upper body. In just one full sequence you'll get a healthy dose of presses, flys, and extensions to push you to the brink. The results will be a stronger, leaner, and highly defined upper torso that will leave you looking awesome, with or without a shirt.
- Workout 10: Back & Biceps. With a host of curls and pull-ups, this routine will make it fun to flex those powerful biceps. But don't worry, ladies--by using lighter weight, you can focus on toning and tightening these showcase arm muscles without adding the size that most guys covet. Additionally, this workout also provides some great back definition that everyone can appreciate. Regardless of your goals, you will achieve them in dramatic fashion if you dig in and max out your reps.
- Workout 11: Cardio X. This low-impact cardio routine can be used in a variety of ways to meet your P90X goals. Use it in addition to your standard P90X workload when you want to burn some extra calories, or as a substitute if your body needs a break from the program's high-impact workouts. Whatever your reason for using Cardio X, you'll find it a fun, full-throttle, fat-burning workout that will leave you feeling lean and mean.
- Workout 12: Ab Ripper X. The combination and sequence of movements in this unique workout taps into not only abdominal strength, but true core strength as well. Master these 11 highly effective exercises and you will achieve vital abdominal muscle strength to benefit your overall health and physical performance. You'll also develop that highly coveted six-pack as you take Ab Ripper X to full throttle. It's extreme work that's better than any machine in any club.

a full workout package
In preparation for a Biggest Loser Contest we are having at work I wanted to up my fitness level. I stumbled upon p90x and was skeptical form the infomercial videos. After much research I got my hands on this program and showed it to my wife who said she'd do the P90X Lean in order to support me.
We've both been going at it for two weeks now and really enjoy the variety of workouts. The first week was very difficult, but by week two we both are already feeling stronger.
I was nervous with the Fit Test, but when I read in detail the expectations I knew I could do this work out. . .well, barely but do it nonetheless.
It's hard not to get discouraged after two weeks when in the mind's eye one expects to have week 12 results already. But we are keeping on regardless.
1) I highly recommend you view all videos BEFORE doing the program so you don't waste your first time through scrambling around for weight, bands, etc.
2) I love how you need very little equipment to get a good workout. The $20 pull up bar at Walmart is fine if you have doors that give you the wide grip. I personally bought the Maximum Fitness chin up bar for $40 because it supports wider doors than the Iron Gym. The SPRI bands on Amazon are awesome!
3) You do NOT need the recovery drink UNTIL you burn off the excess fat.
4) The eating plan is easy to follow! Basically the first month is an very low carb Atkins diet to burn off the stored fat. Then the carbs get a bit better in month 2, then in month 3 you are eating normal meals with a good balance across. I was surprised at how many posts I found where folks did not follow the diet plan. It's 90 days folks...just follow it.
5) I converted the videos for my iPod and have been able to get some workouts at work in our work gym since there is very little equipment needed.
6) I struggle to keep remembering to do the Ab Ripper X on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Even the calendar doesn't have it by default, so make a note somewhere for yourself to add this in if doing the Classic program.
7) I LOVE that the fitness guide has every exercise listed out for you and how to do it (including warm-up & cooldown). Last night I was watching TV with the wife and did my workout by simply following the book. . .it did help I've done the workout once before so I knew what they meant when reading the book.
8) I could see myself doing this program from Classic to Double to Lean or some combination. After that I may try Insanity workout.
OVERALL: - lots of variety - uses body weight for most strength training - even with equipment purchases it's cheaper than a year's membership at a gym. . .thus it's well worth it - portable even if you are traveling (take your bands & fitness guide with you) - getting rid of the junk food in the house without eating it before the program will be the difficult part, but do it! - if you start to get bored, do Jillian's Last Chance Workout or No More Trouble Zones...those are two challenging workouts just to give a change of scenery

Not that great too fast paced
I tried this for a few days and its way too fast paced... then i tried jillian michaels and it was much easier. I am a little overweight and p90x is very hard. Dont waste your money....find another product btw you also dont have to buy there equipment u can get it at walmart. I personally dont like the YOGA on here I am not bendie. its LONG too about 60 minutes. I would say pass on it if u can. I also want to say i have a shin spint and lower back problems this would not be the DVD for you if you have any problems like that

Fantastic Program - you won't regret it!
I'm so amazed that this program worked as well as it did. I thought "another infomercial" - and I *never* buy infomercial items. But something inside told me to give it a try and I broke down and ordered it off Amazon. I didn't even want to tell anyone I bought it because I thought "I'm not sure I can do it and I don't want the embarrassment of failure". But if I can do it then anyone can.
It took a couple of weeks of lighter workouts to "work up" to being able to do these - but maybe that was more my courage working up than my fitness level. And even now that I've fully completed all 90 days I still have to "press pause" through many of them to take an extra 30 second break. But I am in the best shape of my life and am VERY excited to be starting the program again for a second round. I've lost 35 pounds so far (let's just say I was vary round before this - and very out of shape).
I had a personal trainer years ago. I could only afford that 3 days a week and over a summer I got in pretty good shape. With P90X I'm in better shape, faster. But I am working out pretty much every day now (at least 6 days per week).
Pros: * Great variety - can keep using the program after 90 days if you want without being bored * Great production quality * Tony (trainer) has a great personality * Cheaper than a Gym Membership for a year * Easier and less embarrassing than going to the gym * Your "better half" won't be able to keep their hands off of you * Lower blood pressure, greatly increase fitness level, feel younger * Intense (hard) workouts
Cons: * Need 60 - 90 minutes, six days a week * Need to dig deep and "press play" each day. Motivation was hard the first 2 - 3 weeks but then got MUCH easier as you see and feel the results * You can use fitness bands, but you really will want a full set of dumbbells for this (guys especially = $300+) * Need a Heart Rate monitor (Amazon = $30 - $60) * Solid floor to workout on (if you live in the upstairs apartment you may not be loved during the "jump training") * Intense (hard) workouts
Bottom Line: If you can be self-motivated for the first month - FORCE yourself to do it EVERY day - you won't regret it. You'll eventually look forward to it and you'll feel GREAT. And all the compliments you get won't hurt either.

Is this a real version?
The P90X dvd's and booklets are ok for the most part. There are spelling mistakes in the booklets though, which makes me think this is not a real version of P90X. One dvd skips and has some minor scratches on it. We can use the dvd, but it is obviously not new. Billed as a new product...I'm not sure the seller is on the up & up. Delivery was fine though, cannot make any unkind comments in that area.

Totally worth it!
This is the first pedometer I've bought, so my frame of reference is admittedly slim. That being said, I'm quite pleased with this purchase. It performs as described, the clip is strong enough that it doesn't pop off if you're moving quickly, and I really like the modal features. My one gripe (and it's more of a wish) is this: the unit saves your "step" information for 7 days. Which is great. I do wish, however, that it would save all other information for 7 days as well (aerobic steps, calories burned, miles walked). Overall, though, I am pleased with this purchase.

This has been a great buy!
I have used my Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer every day for a month and it has changed the way I walk. My first day I did 12,175 steps and by my 30th day I was walking over 28,009 steps. It is so easy to wear and keep track of your walking. I've even dropped it a few times and it is so well made it wasn't damaged in any way. I know several other people who love their's.

Needs more directions
This pedometer was recommended by my physical therapist but I found it a little difficult to use. I'm a senior citizen and need very clear directions. Once I learned the buttons I thot it was great, especially since you don't have to worry about placement on your body.
Rating :
Convenient pedometer
This is a convenient pedometer which is easy to set up and gives you an accurate read of your walking distance. After trying other pedometers this is the one I would recommend for ease, value and accuracy.

Awesome
I use it to track my running, biking, and canoeing. Does a great job. Locks in on satellites very quickly. The user interface on the device is a bit clunky, but does the job fine.
The data is the reason to have the 305. I've really switched my workouts over to more heart rate zone training and the watch is perfect for it. Heart rate function works perfectly. Speed function is almost always exactly what my bike speedo shows.
Overall I'm very pleased with the purchase.
Two possible improvements 1. I wish I could configure the settings from the Garmin software rather than having to use the 305 buttons. For example configuring the disply settings, clearing history, etc would be much nicer in a GUI on the computer rather than the buttons on the 305. 2. If I have the setting wrong for Running, Biking, Other, I can't see how to change it once its downloaded into the Garmin software. So if you run when the 305 is set to Biking, your workout will show up in biking, calculate calories based on biking, etc.
One word of warning - although the device is called waterproof with an IPX7 rating, I know several people who have had water get in the device and ruin it. When I use mine in the ocean I keep it in a drybag.
Rating :
Love it, love it, love it.
This product does what it says, works perfectly, is very easy to use, and is an overall great product. The size is not a issue with me. I like being able to read everything on the screen as I'm running. Buttons are in the right locations for turning it on/off or pausing and starting again. I wouldn't spend the money on the 405, for what this one has everything you need. Unless you're trying to impress others.
Rating :
Love it!
I've used the 305 for years and love it! It's so great to see your distance and pace at a glance as well as compare your runs on your computer. I just bought this unit for my daughter and she loves it as well. When traveling overseas it does take longer to initalize but once it does it works great.

Great Tool for Improving Your Workouts
Of all the items I've bought from Amazon, this is the first time I've been compelled to write a review on a product. However, the Garmin Forerunner 305 is awesome. I ordered it on a Monday, received it on Wednesday (thanks to the distribution warehouse being less than 100 miles from where I live). Initially, it looks intimidating but it really is fairly easy to figure out once you get a few minutes of time with it. The GPS function picks up satellites even inside my house, which is something that both of my vehicle GPS units cannot seem to do. It never seems to have an issue with drop outs while running. The ability to record data such as heart rate, distance, speed, pace really do add a lot to running and my workouts. Better yet, the Garmin training center software logs all your runs so that you have an easy to access record of your progress. For the price, this is an awesome piece of technology!
Rating :
Invaluable training tool
Prior to purchasing this item I was training for a half marathon and started losing track of writing down my miles, which in turn made me lose motivation to improve or even continue. At first I was a little hesitant due to the size (I'm a 5'3" female) but I decided, after research and many positive reviews to go with the Garmin 305 and what an incredible and powerful tool! There's something so motivating to see where and how many miles you've run when you download your device. I don't even notice it's on me when I'm running, don't let the size fool you. I highly recommend this product as I improved not only the physical aspect of training but the mental part. I completed my half and now I'm training for a full marathon!

Great for P90x
This product is basically identical to the one Beachbody sells for use with P90X but way cheaper. It seems like it might tear down your door trim but it uses leverage so its quite safe. I would suggest getting some foam pieces or something else soft to put under the stabilizing sides because although they are padded they leave indents on the door trim. The product is great for use on the floor for pushups unless your doing extra wide pushups (like one of the excercises in P90x) because there isnt a lot of room for you hands. Great product though.
Rating :
Perfect for P90X, but you have to make sure it fits
I had to look all over the house for a spot for this to fit. After it fits, it's the perfect pull up bar. wide, close, standard grip, etc. Worth every penny.
Rating :
Worth it
The Iron Gym workout bar provides some great flexibility and can definitely help you shape up you body. The great thing about this product is how versatile it is -- you can do pushups, situps, and pull ups with this bar. I have found it pretty effective at what it set out to do.
One major issue though -- you will damage your door frame. I am 200 pnds and that stress goes somewhere -- It turns out it goes straight to the inside frame where the bar is resting. I would highly suggest putting some protective foam in the area you plan on using just to protect your woodwork and your paint.
Rating :
what nobody tells you
that this thing is not adjustable at all. You wall needs to be ~5.5" thick, otherwise you'll have troubles using this bar. I had to modify this this, installing additional wooden bar (~1.5" thick) on top of that black plastic one (had to use longer screws). My wall is 4" thick and without modification thing kept slipping off my doorframe and I even fell couple times.
Rating :
loved it!
We received this item in time for Christmas. My 14 year old son loved it! We have had no problems at all. Assembly was easy too.

It works.
The door insert works too. I'm 5'11", 135lbs, and thought it would "resist" a bit more. I stand/sit pretty far back when I have it in the door, and where the handles connect to the band, it makes noises like it will break...So I'm hoping it doesn't. Going to get the really heavy band so I can compare. I'll update again when I do.
Rating :
This is perfect!
It came really quick. It doesn't deliver right to your door with a mailman. They put it in your mailbox (that's where I found mine). This is a great excersising tool to stay or on-the-go. It's VERY durable and the blue resistance honestly, isn't that strong (around a 10lb resistance if lifted singlely). So I recommend purple ones.
Rating :
Product broke within days.
The handle tore apart from the band after 10 - 20 uses. The metal grommet that connects the band to the handle had a sharp edge that sawed through the handle in no time. The sharp grommet was then catapulted directly at me under the tension of the band.
Rating :
Great band, but just for already trained people
I screwed up the colors when i purchased this, but it's a great band, really resistant, but LOL it's still to hard for me.

Wonderful Little Gadget
I'm not always living in one place in a given time period so I bought this tube with Amazon Prime (it's amazing) and now I have this wonder both at my family home and apartment!
It works great, doesn't fail, and comes with a handy door piece!
Overall, the 150+ reviews should be enough evidence that this is a good piece of exercise equipment. I'm just contributing to it.

Questions & Answers
Question : Are sports important on your high school resume when applying to go to a college?
I am wondering because I am very athletic, however I am not sure if I want to participate in any sports. I take on a lot of leadership skills, extracurricular activities, and I am practically valedictorian, but just how important are sports on your resume?
Answer:
Colleges like it if you played sports in high school because it shows that you are a team player and that you have school spirit. It's not necessarily better than other extracurriculars, but it does look good to colleges.

Question : sports????????
what are your favorite sports? do you excersise? how many times a week?i love sports!!!!!!!!! i especially love soccer, track and snowboarding, do you know any sports that aren't common?
Answer:
My favorite sport is definitely soccer (football)!Unfortunately I don't play soccer since I had knee problems but I row and I swin a lot. Rowing 4 days a week during summer (in Canada) and swimming from 1 to 5 times a week (more during the winter).I wish I knew why I'm so addicted to footie... Anyway it's the best sport in the world!

Question : How many sports are estimated to be played in the United States?
I need to cite an article that has some sort of statistics on this topic. Any statistic like: how many sports are offered to students in school, or how many sports can be seen on television throughout the year.
Answer:
I would check out the website for the National Federation of High Schools to see what they list, as well as check out the 51 state high school associations (Iowa has two) to see what they sanction. As far as what's on TV, try searching for the Neilsen Ratings organization, as it will show you what we watch.

Question : How can high school sports be rewarding to students in the present and future ?
Many sports injuries are minor, such as sprains. But doctors say they are seeing an increase in overuse injuries, stress fractures, tendanitis, bursitis and chronic pain syndromes. But im looking at the positive side of students playing sports like the fact that they are more fit in High School and as they get older they are less likely to become obese, which is the number one problem in the U.S. But what how else do you think High School sports can be rewarding besides keeping students fit ?
Answer:
What is sport? It is a situation where Person A competes with Person B and the best person wins, while someone comes second. However eventually if the person who comes second raises their attitude, trains, then the chances are they will beat the same person next time around. Likewise Team A plays Team B and one teams wins, while the other team comes second. Likewise if the team who came second raises their standards, then they might be winners next time around. In School sport is not about fitness, its about how to compete, how to be a winner and how to be a looser, if the person likes one to one situations, or if they are a Team player. All that life has to offer can be found in sport, from being the individual, the outsider, to being a team player, working in a team. To winning gracefully and loosing gracefully, to having the right attitude, personality, to accept defeat and strive for perfection. Most employment situations will have the same attributes as Sport, and that is why sport is rewarding, even if you cannot hit a ball, let alone catch a ball.

Question : How much money does the average person make in sports marketing?
I will receive my bachelors in sport management from Ohio University with a minor in business and am looking to find a job in a sport marketing firm primarily in Chicago or a large city. I am interested in working in marketing or sponsorship and want to focus more on business rather than sports if that makes any sense. I am looking to work in the highest paid part of the sports industry but am not quite sure if sports marketing is it. Also, if any one knows any great sport marketing firms please list. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Answer:
Im doing a degree in marketing and we were told theres big monry in sports sponsorship, starting at about €50,000 per year!

Question : What sports does the average american play ?
It's just that your sports all seem to be very elitist to play football you need to be at least over six ft tall as with basketball, here in england anyone can play almost any of our national sports even rugby (certain positions) do you play much soccer as you call it.
Answer:
I suspect that if you went by the number of participants for all ages, it would probably be basketball. Softball (like baseball except with a larger ball and underhand pitching) would probably be second. Soccer is popular amongst kids, but is not (yet) played much by adults. And you don't need to be six feet plus to play basketball -- that's only for professionals, and not even all of them (specifically the guards) are that tall. I played basketball in high school and college (house league) -- all 5'11'' of me. And I played forward.

Question : What is the best sports website for a cellphone with little capacity?
I have an el-cheapo cellphone that has internet access, but it can only load small webpages. I used to always use NBC Sports mobile webpage, but now when I try to go to it, I get "File too large". Same thing for CBS Sports website. Has anyone else in the same boat with me found a good mobile sports website that isn't a large file size? Right now I am using Yahoo's but it is not as good as NBC.
Answer:
try espn.com or foxsports.com
