Omron HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer
My wife and I each got one of the Omron HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometers, and have been very impressed at how easy they were to set up, and how accurate they have been. We've used several pedometers before, but have never had as accurate as the Omron HJ-720ITC. It is also very helpful to be able to download the records to see how we are progressing. If you are considering purchase of the Omron HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer, I highly recommend it.

Not A Bad Pedometer, But It Has A Few Quirks
I've been using this pedometer for a few weeks now and have to say that all-in-all it is a pretty good model.
Basically, after set-up, you carry it in your pocket (or wear it on your belt) and it tracks your steps and your aerobic steps by the time you take them. You can then off-load that data into a program that will draw graphs that will compare the steps taken against the targets you set.
The good stuff: The pedometer is pretty easy to set-up, the interface on the computer is good looking and largely self-explanatory. It comes with a wrist strap and a clip so that it can be worn like a pocket watch or strapped into your briefcase or purse. It will apparently even count steps when it is being carried in one of those locations. (Though I have not tried this.)
The bad stuff: The clock on it is not the best. Mine gains about three minutes a week. The unit's face must be within 30-degrees of vertical while being carried or it will not register steps. It does not matter how the unit is oriented as long as the face is nearly vertical... If you think of it like a coin, if the coin is standing on its edge, it works, if it is laying on its face or its back it doesn't. This is pretty easy as long as your pockets are fairly tight... but as I tend to wear loose clothing when I work out, I noticed that the thing was not registering the time I spent on the treadmill. I went back and read the instructions and discovered this. Clipping the thing to my belt during the workouts has fixed this issue.
Overall, I would recommend this. There are a couple quirks that bother me as a software designer, but the average person would probably never notice them. For example. If you leave the PC program running and the pedometer hooked-up to the PC, the system will put your steps on the wrong date... (This happened to me once!) I set-up to transfer my steps on Friday night and then the phone rang. I found the thing still connected the next morning, finished the offload and then noticed that Saturday was already populated with the steps I had taken the day before.
Oh well! Too bad the only way to correct data errors is to uninstall the software and start over!
But as I have said all-in-all, this is a pretty good pedometer and I would recommend it to a friend.

Omron HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer with Advanced Omron Health Management Software
Great Product. I where it every day, helps me track my activity for the day. The only thing I don't like is that it falls off my waistband on my pants, pretty easy and doesn't seem to be accurate if the item is not vertical i.e. sideways in a pocket. I like the software, but haven't played around with it much.
Rating :
Works great
The product is exactly as advertised. I especially like that I'm encouraged to walk more by tracking my progress with the included software. The ease of use provided by the non-restrictive mounting requirements is also a plus (e.g., attach it to a backpack). Using the safety strap is essential, as the unit has fallen off my waist band several times. The only negative comment is that it is a bit bulky, but this is very tolerable.
Rating :
Great item!
Easy to use, and great motivator to walk more and even eat better. Everytime I look at how many steps I've taken, I'm reminded of my fitness goals. I haven't uploaded the info into the computer yet, but am looking forward to that feature.

Yes, women can use it too
I decided to buy this product after realizing that I didn't have as much upper body strength as I thought I did. My son suggested this Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar. I bought mine at Target the next day.
First of all the assembly was very simple. It took all of ten minutes for me to put it together and install it on my door frame. I live in a very old apartment and the door frame was wide enough for the bar, so there was no problem there. The hook that you use to hold the bar in place goes in between the frame and the wall and it doesn't look like it will damage the wall in any way.
The bar is very sturdy and I did not feel that it wouldn't support my weight. With that said let me now tell you about my first attempt to do a pull-up! Well, it didn't go very well at first, as I mentioned before, I don't have very much upper body strength and once I tried to do a pull-up, I realized just how bad off I was. I mean damn it was really pitiful trying to pull myself up and getting completely frustrated. I was so frustrated that I was thanking the gods that I had bought it locally and could take it back, but providence stepped in and saved the day!
I am not one to give up too easily, so I decided to do a search for how to do a pull-up and found the most amazing site called [...]. The video showed not only the proper way to to a pull-up but it showed me how to do a modified pull-up using a stool or what looked like an aerobic step and the Superbands exercise band. With these two accessories and watching the video, I am now able to do pull-ups with ease!
I just purchased the Perfect Pullup Heavy Duty Performance Series Ab Straps to go with the bar After I try them out, I will let you know how they work. Yes, the Iron Gym has it's own ab straps,Ab Straps for the Iron Gym Total Body Workout Bar but you have to order them separately and after reading both reviews, I decided to go with the Perfect Pullup straps. They are cheaper and they got better reviews.

Good to go!
It does exactly what it says; sturdy and effective, I use it every other day for chin ups, pull ups, and sit ups, it's been about 3 weeks and I'm already feeling the results. Read specs before buying to ensure it will fit your door frame, I have regular frames and it fits perfectly.

Iron Gym Workout
Highly impressed with gym workout, has met expectations with pull-up bar reps among others. Would recommend this purchase to anyone.
Rating :
Dangerous equipment
This bar will only work with doorframes of certain thickness. It doesn't stay put on any doorframes in my apartment Iron Gym didn't bother to specify safe thickness of the door frame, so I believe that there WILL be lawsuits from people who fell and hurt themselves. You can hurt your back pretty bad using this equipment if you fall while doing pullups and don't land well. I almost fell down when trying to use it, as it slides off the doorframe. Don't ever attempt hanging crunches using this equipment unless you want to risk really bad back injury, at least make sure your legs are always pointing down if you do decide to use it for anything. Not worth the risk though. The manager of my local sports store told me the same thing--he wasn't able to use it on his doorframe.

Better than I thought
These ear protectors are performing much better than expected compared to many of the reviews I have read. The sound dampening is very good and the unit is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I expected the radio to be a poor performer based on other reviews, but found it to be decent for a shop environment. A stand alone radio that I have been using has much poorer reception than this unit. The nice thing is that you can actually hear the radio easily when operating large equipment (the shop radio was drowned out). What really surprised me was the speed which Amazon delivered the product. It arrived the day after shipping confirmation; that's great.

LISTEN TO THOSE IN THE KNOW, DON'T BUY
I BOUGHT THESE TO LISTEN TO MOSTLY TALK AM RADIO WHILE MOWING AND WORKING IN A CABINET SHOP. SINCE THESE ARE FOR HEARING PROTECTION, THE VOLUME CONTROL IS LIMITED. SOME AM STATIONS THAT ARE NOT PICKED UP AS GOOD AS THEY SHOULD CANNOT BE HEARD VERY WELL BECAUSE YOU CANNOT TURN UP THE VOLUME QUITE ENOUGH. I FIND MYSELF TURNING MY HEAD AT TIMES JUST TO TRY AND HEAR THE TALK SHOWS. FM IS SOME BETTER, BUT IT TO WILL BREAK UP WHEN YOUR FACING IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION.I WILL NEVER BUY A SET OF THESE AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE WEAK VOLUME. I JUST BOUGHT THE Sangean DT-210 AM/FM Pocket-Size Digital Radio, BECAUSE THE REVIEWS ARE MUCH BETTER. I WILL KNOW THIS WEEK IF THE MUCH BRAGGED ABOUT POCKET-SIZED DIGITAL RADIO WILL GET THE JOB DONE FOR ME. IF YOU MUST, GO AHEAD AND BUT THE AM FM PELTOR ON THIS PAGE...WE TRIED TO WARN YOU!!!
Rating :
Better than ever now with MP3 input.
I really like these, I have 3 pair. 2 are the older analog tuning style which are at best OK, and 1 that has the digital tuning. Now with the MP3 input too I am sure they rock.
Rating :
Great! Don't hear someone yell out "Heads up!"
There is a basic problem with this product. If you on a site where your ears need serious protection, you are probably on a site where safety is a big issue. Audible distractions are bad enough for a driver (as NHTSA and others are now saying). On a construction site or around a jet engine, the distraction of music or talk radio could get you killed. My guess is most safety-conscious sites would ban something like this (except in New York City, where Mayor Bloomberg enjoys seeing construction workers killed).
Rating :
Decent...But Not Great
I work in the lawn care industry and have owned several of the worktunes units. I have owned two of these particular units and, although I am not impressed with them, I think they are decent for the money. The first one of these I got last year, and it developed a short in the wiring after using it about 4 months. I have had the one I am currently using for about 6 months, and so far, so good. I realize I am fairly rough on them in my line of work. Overall quality is decent. FM reception is good for the most part. I also like the mp3 jack. I enjoy listening to my mp3 player sometimes while mowing. The main problem is that the AM is almost useless. I do enjoy talk radio, and much of the time you can't get AM reception decent enough to hear anything. Maybe if I am out mowing in a large field and the wind is blowing just right I can listen in. So, if you want to use it for FM and mp3 music, it's not a bad deal if you can get it under $50. If you want to listen to AM radio, save your money!

Works exactly as advertised - and price is right!
Omron makes all sorts of measuring devices including ones for medical application, so I figured they ought to be able to make a decent HRM. This one is decent and probably has all the functionality that most folks will ever need. Comes with the chest belt, transmitter, wrist receiver, handlebar adapter, and a nylon fabric case. The wrist receiver has modes for:
1) 24 h time with month, date, day. 2) 24 h alarm. 3) heart rate with lower and upper limit alarms. 4) stopwatch in .01 s.
It's not the most stylish I've seen, e.g., part lines on the case, but it does have a traditional wristband assembly so that you can change the wristband if it breaks or offends. Chest belt is comfortable and essentially undetectable during periods of duress. Transmit/receive range is effective to at least full arm's length or any position on the bike with receiver on the bar - the adapter fits a 1.25" section easily and should accommodate most any round section bar from about 7/8" to 1.5". And, the transmitter works great with the RealAxiom trainer.

great product
I've never had a heart rate monitor before so I can't compare it to other brands, but this one is great. It's easy to use and seems quite accruate. My husband and I each got one as we are both involved in a daily exercise program, this monitor has been invaluable in helping us stay in the zone we are to be exercising in.
Rating :
Good value
Order process was easy, delivery was prompt, Heart rate monitor does what is claimed. I use the monitor to gauge my pace on a treadmill to improve endurance and physical ability without overdoing the exercise for my age.

Don't Waste Your Time
I bought this watch as a replacement for one being repaired it (different brand) didn't last a month. The screen froze up at 12:55 and could not change mode. It was a waste of time.
Rating :
Omron Heart Rate Monitor
The unit works just fine. But silly me, when I read that it had a high/low alarm I thought the alarm was audible. Nope, a little heart flashes on the watch which is nice if you can keep looking at the watch. Omron didn't lie, but I think 'indicator' would have been a better description.

Exercise Band OK, but not great
This Exercise Band is OK but could be a lot better with a few simple improvements. The handles need to be a little bigger with more padding. Additionally, the door attachment ball (which holds the band to a door frame) definitely needs to be bigger. It's too small and occasionally slips through and can cause an injury. With these few simple improvements, this band would be rated 5 stars.
Rating :
not so much
Suppose to be heavy duty, but really the resisitance is more on the "mild" side, also there are 2 pressed metal pieces that help hold the handles on and one has come loose already (after a months use)I had to take some pliers and press them back together- I didnt pay much for this and you get what you pay for- wouldnt recommend
Rating :
really useful
I am a fitness professional and currently live in a building that has only single purpose machines. Having exercise tubes is an easy way to add possibly infinite number of exercises to your routine at a good price. I wouldn't pay more than $15 for any exercise tube, but it is a good investment.
Rating :
warning the door attachment can be dangerous if your doors have any gaps on top the door
the door attachment is poorly made I didn't notice I had a 1/2 inch gap on my doors when i placed the door attachment on top and i had a pretty long stretch when doing pull-downs with it the door attachment wedge through door and whacked me in chest leaving a very large welt from bands and door attachment so please see that your doors dont have any gaps cause ball from door attachment is made poorly and ball will slide through gap through door and most likely inflect severe pain I was lucky that it didn't hit me on face
Rating :
Husband loves it
Purchased this item for my husband, as the bands he was using kept on breaking. He uses it every day and likes it much better than the band.

Question : What sports does the average american play ?
It's just that your sports all seem to be very elitist to play football you need to be at least over six ft tall as with basketball, here in england anyone can play almost any of our national sports even rugby (certain positions) do you play much soccer as you call it.
Answer:
I suspect that if you went by the number of participants for all ages, it would probably be basketball. Softball (like baseball except with a larger ball and underhand pitching) would probably be second. Soccer is popular amongst kids, but is not (yet) played much by adults. And you don't need to be six feet plus to play basketball -- that's only for professionals, and not even all of them (specifically the guards) are that tall. I played basketball in high school and college (house league) -- all 5'11'' of me. And I played forward.

Question : What sports/physical activities are good for someone with Cystic Fibrosis?
I want to get my daughter involved in some good sports/physical activities. She's only 3 years old. She has Cystic Fibrosis. We live in New York and walk a lot, she gets out of breath often when we go for walks and walk up hills. But the doctors say its good for her to have to work her lungs. What are the best sports and other physical activities I should get her involved in?
Answer:
Regular exercise improves the health of people who have cystic fibrosis. Exercise helps loosen mucus, encourages coughing, improves oxygen flow, and makes you feel better. Upper body exercises, such as swimming or rowing, increase the strength and endurance of the muscles that are used for breathing. After talking to your doctor about how much exercise is good for your child, encourage your child to participate in sports and recreational activities. Team sports are great ways for your child to stay fit and to interact with other children. Talk to the coach or supervisor about your child's abilities and the important role of physical activity in the treatment of cystic fibrosis. Some people who have cystic fibrosis may not be strong enough to participate in certain activities. Your doctor can recommend the right amount and type of exercise for you. Or, you may work with a physical therapist to develop your own exercise routine.

Question : What the difference between a sports agent and a sports attorney?
Are there any differences? Do you still have to go to law school to become a sports agent?
Answer:
The attorney can represent his client in court matters, and the agent cannot. The two are also usually paid quite differently -- an agent can get a percentage of what his client earns, and an attorney cannot. The attorney can only sell his time, and is precluded by legal ethics from acquiring an interest in the client's activities and income. The agent is not required or expected to be a licensed attorney.
