Falling apart after 1 month

I really like Chuck Taylor shoes and these aren't my first pair. But they are the first pair that have started to fall apart after 1 month of use. Not really falling apart but developing holes throughout the canvas. Not sure what's going on but I'm very disappointed.

GREAT DEAL on Converse Low Top All Star Shoe!

The shoes arrived quickly, size was correct and shoes were exactly what we needed! Price was lower than any of the local vendors! Thanks!

Chuck Taylor's are great.

Converse All Stars, a classic. Love them. They're very comfortable and they're perfect for a night at the movies or just hanging out with the guys.
Obviously they do not have much support or cushion (and I wasn't expecting any). If I was going to be on my feet all day or doing something real active this is not the shoe I would choose.
The service here was excellent. I couldn't be more pleased.

Love the Look, Hate the Feel

Grew up in Chucks and love the look -- the coolest one ever. Decided to try a pair again (am over 60 now) but found them painful -- like a slab of wood tied to my feet. What we need are geezer Chucks with cushioning! Converse, are you listening?

Very Good

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She really has enjoyed it and we have had no issues. The price was lower than I found in the stores.

Excellent!

My son is elated! It is the same as the one in the stores and it arrived promptly and packaged well.

Ripstik

This toy was bought for my husband for Christmas because he kept seeing all the neighborhood teens riding around on them and he wanted to try it. He almost fell and broke a leg the first time he got on it. He still needs more practice on it (its been almost 2 months now) and hes had a little improvement. I dont think this thing is good for anyone under the age of about 13. It is not easy to learn but I have been told that once you figure it out (after many tries) that this product can be very fun to ride and is much better than a traditional skate board.

A great way to get around.

I got my Ripstik a few years ago as a gift, and thought it was cool. Unfortunately, the roads around me weren't smooth, so it started collecting dust.
Fast forward to college, and it is SUCH a fantastic way to get around. The agility it exhibits (especially when compared to longboards), as well as its ability to go uphill without pushing make it a blast to ride around.

I love the fact that balancing on it is exactly the same as standing: if you fall forward, push down on your toes and the board will come right back under you. It is incredibly stable: You can even be pushed from the side and not fall over, simply by reacting as if you were on solid ground the whole time.

There are only 3 issues: Moisture, bumps, and wheels.

1. The Ripstik demands large amounts of traction, and because the wheels are very hard rubber, there is little to offer when the ground is wet. Good thing that that is rare in southern California! I simply don't ride it when there's water around.
2. Ripstiks cannot handle bumps. The board just stops when it hits a bump more than 2/3 inches high, leaving you in motion without any support. It also doesn't like rolling parallel to cracks in the ground. My college campus is very flat, though, so it's not a problem.
3. The rear wheel wears quickly. However, I have learned to counteract this with better technique: Putting your weight on the front wheel reduces the wear on the rear wheel, and by sliding the board sideways instead of yawing it, you can make the wear on both wheels identical. Swapping them isn't a problem, either.

Overall, it's a great product, and I highly recommend it.

EXCELLENT SURPRISE!!!!

I bought the RipStick as a birthday present for my 13 y/o grandson. He loves the blue color (his favorite). His first try was very short & wobbly. He is getting to the point of mastering his own technique. All his friends love his new "toy" & now they all want one. I've seen these @ Wal-Mart cheaper, but they don't compare in color, style or durability. The wheels/casters are of very good quality. The CD that came w/ the RipStick was perfect in giving directions for safe usage. I ordered it 13 days before Christmas & was totally shocked to have received it w/in 4 days!! My grandson is very happy w/ his new toy!!!

Saved my son's life.

Sept 2, 2009
You saved my son's Life
On August 31st my 10-year-old son, named Quincy, was racing down a hill on his bicycle. As he came to bottom of the hill there was a stop sign but he was riding to fast to yield to the oncoming vehicle. Within seconds, he and a small truck collided. As he hit the tuck, putting a 6 inch dent in the front fender, he was then thrown into the windshield and fell to the ground unconscious. Overall, the accident caused a mild concussion, a lot of bruises and abrasions and a broken right arm. Thankfully an abdominal CT showed no internal injuries.
After going to the ER by ambulance we were discharged and returned home. Before leaving the hospital parking lot, I thought I would take a moment and look at his helmet. Oddly, there was a wrinkle across the back of his helmet. I showed it to the ER doctor and he stated that without the safety the helmet my son would have had some level of head trauma. Wow, what a miracle!
I quickly recalled, that only about 6 weeks earlier, I purchased two Razor V-17 helmets--one for him and another for his older brother. At the time I was only going to buy one for his older brother but I remember having a distinct impression to buy one for him also. I am so grateful I did. When I consider how most people rely on a high power for direction their life, I too believe that a higher power, who I call the Holy Spirit, had impressed upon my mind to purchase this extra helmet. I have been raised a member of the Mormon Church or who is known as (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) and taught that the Lord knows all things and understands our lives and what transpires daily. Little did I know that the Lord knew events that would transpire in my son's life in the few days that would follow. I will be eternally grateful for the Saviors' understanding and knowledge of our life on this earth. He really wants us to be happy and never wants us to suffer and feel pain and sorrow. In just a few seconds or with a slightly different decision on my part it could have changed the course of the life of my son and our family.
I would like to thank Razor for the safety that their helmet gave my son. My small boy's life could have been changed forever. I am so grateful for the people that have engineered the helmet he wore that day. Thank you, Thank you, with all my heart.

Sincerely,
Kay C Whittaker, Quincy's Father.

I would appreciate if Amazon would forward this to the Company of Razor. If you would like to copy this letter to share it with others I would like the letter to stay intact and not edited except for grammer. Thank you...KCW,,,,

This helmet protected son from critical injury.

Parents, this helmet is worth every penny. My son escaped critical, if not fatal injury thanks to this helmet. Long story short, my 10 year old was moving along at about 15 mph on his electric scooter when a younger child ran in front of him. While avoiding the child, he lost control of his scooter, hit a curb, flipped over the handle bars and smashed his head on the trailer hitch of a parked truck. The point of impact was on the lower back of his head where many helmets do not cover. Thanks to the design of this helmet, it absorbed the brunt of the impact. While he did suffer a serious concussion, it could have ended tragically had it not been for the extra protection this helmet provided. I'd not hesitate to recommend this helmet to other parents. Having said that, whichever helmet you decide to purchase, make sure it protects the entire head!

Fits my 5 year old

I really like this helmet. Our five year old has a big head and this fits him perfectly. Not only that, but he can put it on all by himself. And, he puts it on correctly. Really, what more could you want in a helmet?

Razor V-17 Helmet

Helmet did not fit my 10 year old as product description indicated. It was too big even with the adjustment pads included. The helmet itself looks like good quality but would not buy something online that needs to be fitted again as this helmet will sit in the closet until my daughter can wear it.

Questions & Answers
Question : How can I get the best sports action shots with my Sony H3 digital camera?
My camera has a 10x optical zoom and a 'sports' mode which predicts movement. I want to use it outdoors (eg soccer) and indoors (eg ice hockey) but my pictures are not particularly crisp, even at 7x5in size despite the camera having 8.1mp and coming with a zeiss lens. I use autofocus and depress the button half way down before shooting. What am I doing wrong, and is there an easy way to correct it? Thanks.

Answer:
I'm not sure why this isn't working for you, sounds like it should. The only thing I can suggest is turn on your "auto-bracketing" feature or auto-bracket on a manual setting. It might help. Also, do you use a tripod? This would help, especially on a timer setting or with a remote shutter release, which would steady your camera & give you crisper pictures. Sorry, I can't think of anything else.

Question : How much schooling iis required for a Sports/Action Photographer?
Im doing a seniore project and mine is on this and i was wondering how much schooling is needed and the requirements?

Answer:
As far as I know you don't need any. You just need a good portfolio. I would check craigslist under creative gigs. They usually have something for sports photography. Get involved with a local school and just shoot photographs of the teams.

Question : what settings should I set my Nikon D-300 to capture the best sports action without blur?
I'm Trying to get fast moving pictures and this is a new camera to me, and I'm not sure what the best setting for this would be. If you know I would greatly appreciate it.

Answer:
There is a couple of details you left out that are important...What focal length lens do you have, what are you photographing, and is it indoor or outdoor.Generally speaking, I use a 70-200 f2.8 Vr lens for sports photography like soccer, hockey etc. Indoor lighting quite often is less than perfect, so I shoot in full manual mode then. Somewhere around 1/250th or 1/500th is good. You will need to use slower ISO and wider aperature settings to achieve this sometimes...Outdoors on the soccer field or baseball diamond, I usually set aperture priority mode and set the aperture to f4, which is one stop from wide open on my lens. This is the sharpest setting on my lens. I set the ISO at 200 and just keep an eye on the shutter speed to make sure it doesn't fall too low. If it does, push the ISO up to 400 or 800. Or even higher if you need to. Sometimes you may want to keep some blur in the image to show motion. For instance...a cyclist riding past you. If you use a very high shutterspeed you will freeze the cyclist, but you will also freeze the spokes of the wheels and the bicycle is just standing there. Sometimes a slower shutter speed and panning with your subject as it moves past is best. That way you freeze the cyclist, but the wheels still show some motion.Just as an example I photograph a lot of aircraft in flight. Helicopters with frozen rotor blades looks silly in the sky! Helicopters should be photographed usually no faster than 1/80th of a second, a propeller driven aircraft no faster than 1/125th or 1/250th or you freeze the props! For photographing aircraft I use shutter priority and specify these speeds. The camera looks after the correct aperture for the exposure.
