Great Adult Helmet for Bicycle and Skate Use

Awesome helmet! I'm a 27-year-old male with a headsize of 56 cm. or 22-1/2 in., and the medium size Bell Faction White Critters helmet fits perfectly. The kids' version of the Faction is called the Fraction.

It comes with three sizes of pads. The medium size pads are already in the helmet and they fit the best for me. The other two size pads are thin ones and thick ones. The thick ones make it fit my head so snug that I doubt I'd even need the chin strap haha.

I used the free shipping and Amazon delivered it two days sooner than they estimated it would arrive, which made my day.

The same day I received the helmet, I went for an 8-mile bike ride out in the 90 degree Florida heat and it was great. The pads kept the sweat out of my eyes and remained comfortable the entire ride. The front vents are what really kept my head from getting too hot.

I would recommend this helmet to anyone who doesn't like the look of bike helmets. I'm one of them. I like the Bell Faction White Critters because of its fun design, which you just can't get with a bike helmet. And being dual-certified for both skate and bicycle use, you'll only need to buy one helmet.

Some quick tips for proper fitting and wear:

Wear the helmet low on your forehead for best coverage and protection.

Buckle the chinstraps! Wear them loose enough for comfort, tight enough not to slip past your chin.

I like it. That's all

Not much to say. If i ever land on my head and it breaks, then i won't like this helmet. but for now it's comfortable, easy to adjust, and doesn't look as lame as a lot of helmets.

Decent Helmet- Decent Price- simple but nice design

I like this helmet because of its simple design. I'm not a fan of the helmets that make me look like an alien with a huge cone on the back of my head. I don't want a bunch of frufru things. It has a few vents which are nice. The strap is nice and soft so it doesn't chaff your neck. The outer shell is hard plastic which I like for some reason.

Overall this helmet is light. It also comes with a few different thickness of pads. The measurements for fit work well. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

You are trusting your life to what you are wearing

When I was riding Motorcycles many years ago and rode about twenty years or about 200,000 mile, I was using a Bell Helmet. You are trusting your life to what you are wearing. When I though I want to get a bicycle to partly relive my motorcycle days and partly for local transportation, I got a Bell bicycle helmet again. As usual the quality is very good. The color is molded in the plastic and you can adjust the liner inside the helmet with spare pad that come with it. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that Amazon dose not carry this type of helmet in a large white (I got a plane black one). Once you get the helmet adjusted to fit you head, you hardly know you are wearing it.

Protec Helmet

Awesome helmets! My now 3 year old has had one since he was 2 years old. We just purchased another for our now 2 years old. Both my sons love this helmet. They never argue to wear it. They fit better then any other helmets & has the full coverage protection for their heads. The price is great! Other kid helmets are about $5 cheaper but don't protect as much. I would rather have a helmet w/ full head protection than some child's helmet w/ a character on it any day!!! You can always add character stickers to this helmet to personalize it to your child's liking. Plus, the color choices are great! Pro-Tec The Classic Multi-Sport Helmet

Great Helmet

This helmet is awesome. It looks and fits great. I ride BMX and skateboard and that means nasty spills so gotta have a helmet! Comfortable and doesn't squeeze my head like other helmets do. Just one thing, make sure you know what size you take! Re-shipping this can cost you alot of money. No wonder Pro-Tec is the trusted name in helmets. Buy this now!!!

Excellent helmet

This year, I got a BMX bike for Christmas, and that means that I needed a helmet to go with it. I asked for a Pro-Tec Classic. All the pros use it, and it looks/works great. With short hair, it does look a little stupid. It looks like your head is getting squeezed. Let your hair grow out some more and it will look fine. Buy this helmet today.

Brain Protection for the little guys

Each of my sons has a helmet to protect their heads from injury. These helmets are good-looking & effective (not effective if they are not worn; the boys like these for their skating / bmx experience).

Watch out for my tiny little head!

I ordered this helmet to go along with the Flybar 1200. My son will actually wear it, but he would have preferred a different color besides white. BUT, he can just cover it with stickers and such and the color won't much matter. I am glad he has it!

Ergon GP1 Grip Ergon GP1 Grip
Price : $29.95
Features :
  1. forged aluminum clamp
  2. available in two sizes
  3. Easily adjust the angle of support.
  4. Gray/Black

Editorial Review :

The Ergon GP1 Grips stands head and shoulders above other grips thanks to an ergonomic shape that eases hand fatigue on long rides. Dual-density rubber eases the chatter when you're riding rough terrain while the grip's flat top provides plenty of surface area to ensure a comfortable time on the trail. Ergon's lock-on design completely eliminates slippage, so you can spend your time riding instead of adjusting.

Product Features

  • Material: Rubber, aluminum
  • Weight: [Standard small] 169 grams

Customer Review :

A must for frequent riders

These grips are not cheap, but it's way cheaper than going to see your doctor for carpal tunnel. They are most affective when used on MTB which rider leans the upper body weight on the bent wrists. If you ride frequently, these grips are a must. The grips themselves are 5 stars, I a star off due to its wasteful packaging. One of most wasteful packaging that I've seen in a long time.

Not 95 mm Grips too long for Grip Shift

I ordered the 95mm For use with Grip Shift and they sent me 132 mm grips that are to long for my bike.

this is what it says on the page
# 95mm
# For use with Grip Shift

and I end getting 132 mm long grips not made for grip shift.
May Be they want me cut the grip down to 95 mm?

Terrific grips, have multiple pairs

I put these on my bicycle a couple of years ago and loved them. So much that I drove all around town looking for a couple more pairs when I got my new bicycle and to put on my fiance's bike.

They lock down with an allen wrench for EASY installation and removal. And the palm rests make a world of difference on a long ride.

Good Grips

Excellent product. Noticed immediate relief from Ulnar nerve problems during long rides. Highly recommend.

Great bike grips

These are really nice grips. I have the GC2s on another bike, and they're great too, so I got these for a newly acquired mountain bike. For the price, it's really a no-brainer to buy these instead of some cheap slip ons.

This helmet fit me perfectly!

I tried several helmets on at the sporting goods store but this GIRO fit me perfectly. I ordered it from Amazon due to the excellent price and color selection. It is comfortable and very lightweight. The colors were also nice. I highly recommend it!

Fits Great

My head (measured around where my eyebrows are) is 21 inches. This helmet is too snug on the smallest setting but too big on the largest settings, so it fits me right in the mid-range. It looks pretty well made. It is not a top of the line helmet by any means but is a great buy for the price. I would not try to skimp on a helmet and I feel comfortable with the quality. Plus, it matches my bike.

Rating :

Good helmet

I've never worn a helmet in my life, but this seems to be a very good one. I chose it based on the well-known manufacturer and price. they usually make high-end helmets of superior quality, so I bought the one I could afford. It works well, alittle hard to fit at first, you have to play with it until it fits just right. but I feel much safer now and don't worry about a head injury if I fall off. I think everyone should wear a helmet just to be safe.

Satisfied

Good fit. Light on the head. Would of given it a 5 but it is hard to adjust the straps once you adjust them initially. I had it on when I fell, first time in 30 years of riding. Problem was that I hit the pavement with my face not my head. The good thing is that the helmet stayed on perfectly, during the impact. It would of protected me well if I fell the other way and that is what it is all about.

Rating :

Very nice helmet, just too small.

Such a nice helmet, but too snug on my head. I think my head is just an average size (?), however, on the largest adjustment, it was too tight, so I had to return it.

The KMC Z410 Chain is perfect for your BMX or Single Speed bike. The KMC Z410 Chain is a 1/2" x 1/8" chain and has 112 Links except the black chain which has 96 Links.

Customer Review :

Quality chain, useless paint job.

Great quality chain, not sure why other people have been complaining about it breaking. Like anything else, if you don't install it right its not going to work right ;)

I've been using this chain for a few months of pretty intense single speed mountain biking, putting way more stress on it than a regular user and haven't had a single issue.

I will mention though that the red coloring is horrible. I could have done a better job with spray paint. The color is not even throughout the length of the chain and the internals of the chain are littered with over spray. Obviously this is a cheap chain and I didn't expect perfection I just thought it was worth mentioning.

Rating :

Bad idea to bargain shop....

I regret bargain shopping for a bike chain. Within 1 week, the master link broke off. The links just feel cheap and using it w/o a master link causes the connecting links to lock up sometimes. Considering it is KMC, which is normally reputable, I am disappointed and a little scared to ride with it.

Point of story: don't bargain shop for a chain! pay the extra money for an SRAM.

Rating :

Not worth it

Its light but it has broken twice on me in one week. Im not putting that thing back on my bike, not worth getting stuck somewhere to save a buck.

Rating :

colorful yes, useful, not really.

i made my own fixie, i used the chain but it broke on me a couple of times could be me but breaking twice on a ride really is annoying. the fact it comes with quick release option is nice though

Rating :

Nice chain.

I thought the chain was iodized and completely blue. However, it is just a type of paint on the outside. Otherwise, it's a reliable chain like you would expect.

Questions & Answers
Question : Which of the Action/Extreme sports...?
...do you find most impressive?? Visually and tecnhically. This includes surfing, skateboarding, bmx, rollerblading, snowboarding and mountain biking.I ride Flatland BMX, which gets very little coverage or exposure, yet it requires so much balance, and is probably the most technical of all of them. It's so awesome to see the Pro's linking trick after trick together in a big combo, putting the bike in all kinds of positions, even upside-down, while they remain upright. Most people who I tell that I ride Flatland, they say they've never heard of it.For every 1 bmx magazine on the shelves, there are 5 skateboard magazines. more people skate than bmx, because it's easier..??Whats YOUR opinion on the most impressive Action/Extreme sport..??

Answer:
yeah i ride street/park bmx and i skate and downhill a little and i think that bmx is a pretty physicaly demanding sport, like you have to lift the bike into the air(mines pretty heavy) and to keep balance on ledges and rails is really hard.but there all pretty amazing to watch and they are all hard as well.but the most entertaining one for me to watch is freestyle motoXthey do like nohanded backflips then land nohands and ride off and they do it all on 200pound bikesso i reckon freestyle motocross is the most impressivep.scan i have best answer

Question : GUYS...are girls who are moto X riders, BMX, skaters, and such atrractive?...r girls like that intimidating?
okay so for awhile there has been opinions about girls participating in action sports and such..men feel that women are not good or strong enough to do moto X and such...if there was a girls who was really into moto X bmx skating and that stuff and she was very attractive and had other interests, is she intimidating?..if so is it because she is able to compete with you?....just wondering....

Answer:
they're attractive if they're good looking and are into it...somebody who's average looking and gets into it MIGHT be a little hotter (to me) but it isn't that big of a swing. on the other hand, if the chick didn't do that stuff just because she didn't want to be unattractive to somebody--that's unattractivewho cares what dudes think....just do your own thing and you'll be happy, you'll meet guys who are cool enough to not give a sh-t ya know.....good luck

Question : Advice for starting action sports photography.?
I would like to get into taking photography but sitting in a studio studding under a photographer taking senior and family portraits sounds too boring for me. Id like to get into action photography, so I decided to start with non-stadium sports, such as skateboarding and bmx. I need all the advice and tips I can get. I dont even know where to start. I am on a student/part time budget so I don't have much money to spare. I have the Nikon D40 starter kit so I have the basic 18-55mm lens. I am considering buying a stronger lens and am considering Nikon 55-200mm f4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens, would this be good? Again I need all the advice on phototaking I can get. Thanks. :)Aga
