Wakeboard

I have used this board with bindings three times with no problems. The first time I ordered it, the top was covered in large bubbles, a manufacturing defect. I contacted Amazon, and they immediately sent me a replacement.

I used this board only two times before it started coming apart on one end where the board was fused together. As usual Amazon took it back and refunded the money with no hassle.

Horrible Board

I got this board as a replacement board after a diffrent airhead board i had broke. My first time riding it I jumped it came down and caught the front edge of the board and it ripped one binding right out of the board. I'm not a small guy by any means (250 lbs) But after talking to a airhead rep. the board should have not done that. This board was the fourth airhead board i had went through in the past year. One of which split apart. 2 of them the bindings pulled out, one with me on it and another with a 135 lb kid on it. And one broke in half after a jump. The dealer I go through is now getting me an O'Brien board which one of my friends have which i have rode for about 3 years now and it has held up great.

Awesome instructional DVD!

This is a great instructional DVD for wakeboarding! It is fun to watch and easy to use. The first time you can watch the entire video including the "silly" skits and "detention" scenes which are actually sort of funny -- once, but become annoying on subsequent viewings. But then, the nice thing is that you can go straight to the "Tricks" section, which is actually more like a "chapter menu" section, and go directly to whichever move or subject that you are interested in.
This DVD starts at the very beginning (how to get up on a wakeboard) and progresses through edging (carving), ollies, butterslides, wake jumping, 180's, and then on to incredibly complicated maneuvers that I am sure very few humans will ever actually try. The first Volume is probably all that anyone actually needs, but it is a lot of fun to watch the more complicated tricks in volume 2 as performed by Shaun Murray.
I would definitely recommend this DVD to anyone who is interested in learning how to wakeboard or how to improve their wakeboarding skills.

BOOT GOO

Customer Review :

I got this "just in case"

I wasn't sure that I'd need this but got it just in case & was sure glad I did! I read that you could use baby shampoo or numerous other "substitutes" but was concerned about the consequences of possibly damaging my boots and there really wasn't that much of a price difference anyway. This stuff worked great and I would highly recommend getting it if you have the older style boots that require sliding into.

Questions & Answers
Question : How much different is wakeboarding from snowboarding?
I am a really good snowboarder i just dont do alot of tricks i am (15) i was thinking about wakeboarding i was woundering how much different it would be from snowboarding if its ALOT harder or somewhat the same?

Answer:
Well its a lot different but not a lot harder.I do both and I love both. Itll just take some getting used to for you.In wakeboarding, you have to worry about getting up. You start with the board's bottom facing the boat. Your knees are pulled in tight to your chest. As the boat starts to speed up you can not let the boat pull you forward but you can't lean back to far or you will fall. Once you are up, you will naturally let one foot in front of the other [goofy?] Its just different because you have to worry about holding onto the rope, wakes from other boats, AND staying balanced. Your arms will get worn out and sore your first few times but it is really fun!its like snowboarding for the warm seasons :]

Question : Where can I get some marketing research reports on wakeboarding?
I'm doing a project on wakeboarding for my New Products Management class. I need to find some Marketing Research Reports on waveboarding. I would appreciate some web links. Thanks.

Answer:
Waveboarding? Go to your local library and ask the librarian at the business desk. Those reports should be available through a number of magazines and directories. They should also be available on line. The librarian will be able to give you the right directories to search through.Good luck!

Question : Where can I find wakeboarding poles online?
I'm thinking of getting a wakeboard. Where can I find cheap tow poles online for use in a runabout boat? Not like those gigantic ones in real wakeboarding boats, though. Thanks!

trywww.bartswatersports.comwww.westmarine.comI don't know about "cheap". I think they're $200 - $300Good luck!Definitely try wakeboarding!! It is so much fun when you "get it"!!

Question : How do i become sponsored in wakeboarding?
I want to be sponsored by something for wakeboarding. Im pretty confident in my skills as being good, if not then ill learn the hard way, but what would be the steps to getting a sponsor? Just entering competitions, or is there more/less i could do?

Answer:
I'm in the same situation as youenter some comps because there are always reps there. Get yourself known in the wakeboarding community by socializing with other riders and reps. You want to come across as a good person so always be respectable towards your peers and try not to act like your the greatest.

Question : How should I start to learn Wakeboarding?
I love to learn wakeboarding .Please tell me what should I do?I even don't have any equipments .

Answer:
first you should go get the equipment, next you should either take a lesson or learn how to wake board from a friend.

Question : wakeboarding?
is wakeboarding hard because i think it looks easy, but thats also what i thought about skateboarding. Is it like snowboarding?

Answer:
yeah, once you can stay up you can start doing harder stuff and start having alot more fun. before you can do that you have to get the feel for standing up which depending on the person can be quite a mountain to climb

Question : What is the song playing during the wakeboarding scene in the new "Friday the 13"?
While the girl is wakeboarding in the movie, a really great song is playing. Its not "Drama Queen" because that song is playing only in the trailer. I am talking about in the actual movie. I know the song but don't know what its called. If you know it, please let me know! Thank you!

Answer:
Are you talking about the scene where the guy is shot with an arrow?

Question : How to get a schedule for all wakeboarding competitions for the year?
I want to know were i can go watch and get in the wakeboarding competitions and like i can find them in my home town and stuff but i cant find them in other states so i would like to know how to find were they well be.

Answer:
The best way to get a schedule of events is to go to www.usawaterski.org and then choose the Wakeboard link. It should list any events coming up. Hope you have fun.

Question : How important is a pole/tower and a spectra rope when it comes to wakeboarding?
I've gone wakeboarding a couple of times with a regular rope and no tower and it seemed to be very difficult. I understand that there is a decent learning curve with wakeboarding but I was just wondering how much of a difference it would really make to get a tower or spectra rope? I was wondering if they are worth picking up for the occasional wakeboarder...

Answer:
they are definitely worth the money you pay for them, even if you only occasionally ride, the first and foremost is the tower, or at least a 5' to 6' tall "eyepole" installed on the boat that is your biggest purchase which can run up to $1000 or more depending on the company you buy it from. it gives you a higher point to work from (and takes less stress off the boat to allow it to get on plane faster rather than plowing water for a couple of minutes to pull you out and up to your feet, especially if you're using an I/o {inboard/outboard boat} which doesn't have nearly the horsepower an inboard or wakeboard boat has: 125hp + for I/O, 200-300+ for inboards wakeboard boats) of and keep good tension on the line when attempting tricks otherwise you'll have a harder time keeping the slack out of the rope, which is crucial for getting good height and pop off the wake to clear it, plus you'll have to work harder thus physically wearing yourself out quicker, the tower works better than an eyepole because theres not as much flex with the usual "pyramid" style mounting design, meaning it's bolted directly into the top or sides of the boat (getting an adjustable tower for multiple boat designs is your best bet here); an eyepole is mounted in the center or back of the boat and can or will be anchored by ropes, but you'll still have a lot of flex since there's a single, central focal point for the tension from the line to come from.Spectra rope is pretty stretchy and doesn't maintain tension all that well, Dyneema is a better, more durable type of rope. you want a rope that is stretchy enough to give you the snap you need to pull off a trick, but still maintain it's consistancy since it should return to it's original position once the tension is released, whereas Spectra will continue to stretch and wear out eventually it can also tend to snag more and knot up into a complete rat's nest much easier than Dyneema, just make sure you allow the rope to loosen behind the boat before you roll it back up to put it away, or it'll twist up on you like a pretzelI like to use Accurate "A-line" (@ Hyperlite.com) or the StraightLine "Team" (Liquid Force.com) ropes as my tow rope choices since they have a good stiffness and durability. not to mention what a big difference that a good carbon fiber handle will do for you when put to good use along with the ropeit is expensive to get the right gear, but it definitely makes it harder on the rider(s) without them
