Editorial Review :
If your toddler can walk, your toddler can ride a Strider Sports PREbike. The Strider Sports PREbike teaches your child balance and coordination, developing glittering confidence.Trikes and bikes with training wheels simply can’t do this.Traditional bicycles place too much focus on learning to pedal - skimping on developing your child’s motor skills. And these bikes are heavy, clunky and difficult for toddlers to control. The Strider Sports PREbikeTM is the natural progression from a ride-on or push toy.Yes, bike riding becomes a easy and fun when you teach your child balance and coordination before pedaling. With NO pedals and NO training wheels, your toddler powers the Strider Sports PREbikeTM using their feet safely on the ground; allowing them to learn to balance a bike at their own pace. So ditch the tricycle and training wheels, and teach your child to ride a bike sooner and safer with a Strider Sports PREbike.

Super investment!
I ordered this for my 3 yr old daughter and she LOVES it! The first time out she was wobbly and unstable... by the end of the week she was cruising down the sidewalks with her feet up. This is a great bike and I would recommend it to anyone with a tot wanting/needing a bike! It is so lightweight she can carry it by herself and it's a cinch for me to hang in the garage. 5 stars!

Excellent
We bought this bike for son's 2nd birthday and he loves it. After a few days he was able to go for 2 mile rides with my husband. He looks adorable riding next to my husband as he is so small compared to my husband on his bike. People in cars are always talking to them as they pass bc it's so cute and they are impressed to see someone so small on two wheels. We also get tons of positive comments on the playgrounds from other parents.
The biggest problem is that I can't keep up with my son on foot while he is riding(and we have a baby I have to push in the stroller)so he can't ride the bike as often as he wants to and that leads to serious temper tantrums.
Great bike esp for a smaller child. I highly recommend it!

Great beginner bike for toddlers
After reading the reviews, I was a little concerned about the quality of this bike compared to the price. But I was happy when we opened the box and put the bike together in seconds. The quality is great and my 2 yr old is pretty rough with his new bike. He hasn't quite mastered it yet, but is too short for a traditional bike with pedals and training wheels. I would recommend this bike without reservation!

Amazing!
I really didn't know if this bike was going to live up to the hype but it DID! My son (3.5) hopped on and took off. Within a day, he had easily mastered walking it and was starting to really pick up his legs. By the end of the month, he was coasting far. Make sure to find some little hills or ramps - that's where I realized he really "got it". I love how light it is and how well it fits him. It's just SO fun!

Maybe a little too heavy for my 19 month old, but he will grow into it soon
We chose this balance bike because it can be adjusted lower than any other metal one. The seat AND the handlebars do go low enough for our 19 month old (32 inches tall, 23 pounds), but it is a little too heavy for his upper body strength (or lack thereof). Or it could be a confidence issue with him, as it is very different from his 1st "bike" which is a 4-wheeled Radio Flyer scooter. For now, he chooses his old, comfortable one. We are still very happy with the Strider, as he will grow into it.

Decent, not great
I just got this for my son because his Original Big Wheel finally broke down. That being the very best riding toy *ever*, it was difficult to replace. You can no longer buy a quality version of the Original Big Wheel (company went out of business and new company producing is making a cheap/bad version?), so we got this. It looks cool, and the rubbery front wheel is great. Also love the flag. Bad things: (1) handlebars should curve back to make them easier for kids to hold and (2) both my kids say the seat back is very uncomfortable. I probably would have sent this back right away knowing this, but the kids had already ridden it for a while before I realized they weren't comfortable. The seat back digs in when they lean back. I'm going to have to fashion some kind of cushion over it, believe it or not, so they'll ride this thing. That's a major drawback, and not something I look forward to doing after spending $70 on a toy. And my kids aren't wimps. They've never complained about anything like this before. They rode the Original Big Wheel day in, day out for three years, all over the neighborhood. Never one single complaint. Nothing but fun. So I'm not completely thrilled with the Big Flyer.

Need long legs
A very high quality and excellent bike with a low center of gravity. However, even with the adjustable seat in the full forward position, probably only for 4 year olds and up.

Grandparents purchase winners!
All of our grandchildren reside in Orange County, California. They are very active and fun-loving. When my two granddaughters aged 5 and 7 came to visit us for eight days, they found that grandpa had bought two Radio Flyer Big Flyers for them to play with. He put headlights on the front and small flashing red lights on the back. They are really girly girls so we didn't know what to expect. Well they loved them!!! They had never driven anything like them before but cught on right away. We would go sightseeing everyday and they would beg to get home so that the could ride their flyers. We bought these because they were red and the boys could use them too when they come to visit. Well made, easy to put together, and hours of safe fun...we are so happy that we purchased them.

Radio Flyer Big Flyer is Big hit with 5 year old!
The Big Flyer appears to be very durable. The five year old driving this Big Flyer is tall for his age but fits nicely on the Big Flyer. He LOVES the flag. Thinks it makes it really cool. Mom loves the flag. He is easy to spot! Amazon had the best price I could find for this item and it was delivered in speedy fashion.

Decent bike for the $$
The handle bars keep coming loose, making it hard to steer. But, overall it's a great bike, and I'm sure it will last through several kids!

Loved this...
My grand daughter loves this bike. It is sturdy and not easily tipped over. I had purchased the plastic ones before but they tipped over too easily. My grand daughter is tall for her age and adjusted very well to this bike. I am so happy to have found it!

Quality could use some work.
My 2 yr old daughter got this bike as a bday gift, but there seem to be a few quality issues with the bike. Right out of the box, the chrome was already rusting. Also, there is a very strong chemical odor coming from the bike that hasn't gone away after 4 days. The bike is also too big for my 2 yr old who is about 35 inches tall.
I will be returning this trike and getting one of their plastic models instead.

Very nicely made
My daughter, 3, loves this bike. The handle bars need a bit more tightening though.

Quality Tricycle
This tricycle is built like they used to build them. It is all metal and sturdy. This thing will last for years. We got this for our 3 year old last Christmas and he has enjoyed riding it. It may be just a tad bit large for the regular 2 year old but I cannot recommend this enough. It is a great toy and the price is awesome!

Editorial Review :
This sturdy trike offers three fun ways to ride. The base locks in place for ride-on, rocking fun. As your child grows, the base converts to an extra long parent handle so you can comfortably stroll behind your child, offering a helpful push while they learn to pedal. When they're ready to ride on their own, remove the handle, adjust the seat and fold the foot pegs for easy, independent pedaling. Features: - Rock - Sturdy rocker base is great fun for little ones.
- Roll - Flip base around and it becomes a handle, ready for you to guide your child along.
- Ride - Remove the handle, flip up the footrest and let them take off on their own.
Measures approximately 40.5" x 19" x 32.5".
Customer Review :
One of the best purchases I've made for the kids
Let me start by saying that we have owned this trike for over four years. I have 3 kids ages 5, 7 and 9. They still ride this trike after four years! They started using it as a rocker for a short time, and quickly moved to the push trike setup. It has gotten so much use and abuse over the years. Now, even the 7 and 9 year old still like to play with it. (Technically, they are both probably too big for it, but they are still able to pedal with their knees bent out a bit.) I don't write reviews too often, but I felt compelled to write about such a great purchase. How often do we spend money on toys for our kids that break or rarely get played with, or they outgrow them before they get much use? (More times than I would care to think about for us!) On a side note, if your child is young and/or too short to reach the pedals, you should consider trying this toy again in a few months. There were probably times when, at certain ages, my kids didn't use this often. But the great thing about it is that it really does grow with your child. They have found new ways to play with it more times than I can count.

Ridiculously fun for a ridiculously long time!
Incredibly durable plastic. We used the rocker feature when our kids were toddlers, then they learned to pedal around the finished basement, and the thing now has a seemingly endless third life as a "big wheel" type of thing. My three boys, now ages 8 (twins) and 9, STILL each use one of these to race kamikazi-style down our driveway, with the garage as finish line. I cannot believe they even all still fit on them, but every spring when I try to sneak the trikes out of the garage to give them away, the next thing I know, my boys are on them again, riding like maniacs. I don't know if I love this toy or hate it! But I will say we've gotten our money's worth!

Nice starter tricycle
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. I love being able to push the toy when needed. I am, however, a little disappointed that the seat and/or pedals do not adjust for my child's shorter legs. The seat moves forward and backward, but it does not move far enough up for my son to keep his feet on the pedals. My son still loves the toy though. I also wish there was a way to lock the handle bars in a straight position, so the toy would be easier to push (without a rider to steer) when we're out somewhere and my son decides he wants to walk. We haven't had this toy for very long yet, but it seems quite durable and easy to clean. I would recommend this toy.

Not good for pedaling...
We've had this trike for over a year now and it's not used anymore. In fact, we just purchased the Schwinn Easy-Steer Trike from [...]. Pros: - the rocking mode is nice to have. Our son used it indoors and it was fun for him for a while - for pushing this trike works ok when your child has no desire to pedal/cannot reach the pedals. The footrests work well
Cons: - With the seat forward as much as possible our son could not reach the pedals back when he was 2.5 yrs old. At 3.5 yrs old he can reach the pedals better but the low quality plastic wheels don't grip the pavement very well and it's hard for him to pedal. - Push handle with no steering means the handle can be a pain when your child wants to steer the trike elsewhere. At times I would 'wheelie' the trike so that the front wheel is off the ground so that we could go in the intended direction and not into a parked car :).
I gave this trike 2 stars because it's fairly useless for us when our son wants to pedal the trike. I'm sure other children can pedal this thing just fine though.
Rating :
Awesome Trike
My kid really enjoy riding this trike. You can convert into rock n roll and kids enjoy rolling on it. Remove the handle at the end and kids will enjoy more riding this trike as it becomes light weight for them to pedal and drive.

Editorial Review :
Perfect for the young trike-rider, this innovative model from Radio Flyer offers some remarkable features that both children and adults are sure to love. The removable, 4-position push handle on the steering wheel enables you to turn the front wheel while your child rides. When she's old enough to steer on her own, you can remove it. The freewheeling pedals allow your child to coast while you push, and the sturdy, tubular steel frame has flip-down foot rests. Also features 10-inch front wheel, durable molded wheels with grip tread, soft removable cargo pack, adjustable seat and ringing bell. Measures approximately 30" x 21.5" x 23".
Customer Review :
Nice trike for a 2 yr old
We bought 2 for our Boy and Girl 2 yr old twins, having the handle that allows you to help them navigate has been very helpful. The bike seems to be very sturdy, and they are enjoying them very much.
Rating :
great buy
great value for the price. my daughter loves to ride it. the handle is removable as the child becomes older. also the body is expendable.
Rating :
Doesn't teach child to ride
The trike is poor quality and the front wheel functions to allow the trike to coast. Which prevents the petals from turning when the trike is in motion. This feature has confused my child and even though we have owned this trike since she was 18 months old she still doesn't know how to petal and she is 3 now. It prevents your child from learning how to alternate legs because they don't have to. I would NOT reccomend this to another parent because of this feature. Also the coasting front wheel means THE CHILD HAS NO WAY TO BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN when on their own. This is a problem if your child encounters a small hill (or in our case steep driveway).
Rating :
Excellent value for the money
The Radio Flyer Deluxe Steer & Stroll Trike is an excellent value for the money. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter loves it. During a recent vacation it replaced the stroller and it was a lot more fun for her and us than having her sit still in the stroller. The trike is easy to steer with the push bar, which is high enough even for tall people and easily detached for transportation. Assembly was easy enough, but I am somewhat experienced. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The wheels started squeaking after a few days but a little WD40 took care of it.
The only thing missing is a break. As long as we push her around there is no break necessary, but as soon as she is old enough to ride the trike without our help we will have to see if it is save enough without a break or if we have to switch to a different ride.

Fell apart after a few uses!
The only reason this is not getting 1 star is because it was fun for the year that it held together for. I purchased this for my 2yr old a year ago and he loved it. We had it for a year and maybe used it a few times a month and not at all in the winter. This spring we brought it back out and after a few uses the steering bar for parents started to break, for some reason I could barely steer the bike any longer then the wheels started making loud screeching sounds that WD-40 could not help. Then, while it was sitting untouched in the garage it fell apart (I read a few other reviews that had the same thing happen)! I was shocked! The whole bike is in pieces! The front wheel & handle bars fell off. Thank goodness my son wasn't on it at the time! We were not rough with this bike at all, we take very good care of all of our son's toys and I have never had anything like this happen before. I would not recommend buying this product, the quality is just so bad. For the money it should have lasted a lot longer.
