Just what I wanted
I am not big into this kind sport but my son and I wanted to work out on a heavy bag. I looked at a lot of other types of gloves and tried some on in stores. Nothing seemed to fit right. These are great. They would fit anyone and they really protect. I don't feel anything when I am punching the bag. Not sure if they are good for someone who is really into the UFC/MMA sport but great for anyone just wanting to work out some frustrations on a heavy bag.

TKO Neoprene Bag Gloves
These gloves are great for me, they have more than enough padding for light to heavy bag work, and they fit very nice.

Great value
These gloves are a great value. I have been using mine almost every day since I got them and have not had any stress/strain on my knuckles or fingers nor have I had any bad impacts to my wrists. When they need to be washed I will soak them in vinegar, which kills the bacteria that cause the strong smells. I use vinegar for my gi and it does not have any negative impacts on the fabric.

good quality.
Good gloves. Cheap price. Use hand wraps and you shouldn't have any problems. for beginners, you should practice punching first. dont be a hero and go all-out on a punching bag and mess up your wrist.

Comfortable, sturdy, more punch for your buck.
Great bag gloves! You won't be disappointed. The neoprene padding and pre-shaped form make these gloves durable and comfortable. There's no tacky plastic or leather on the outside surface, minimizing friction and further lengthening the useful life of the gloves.
For the price, I don't think it gets much better =)

Editorial Review :
Neoprene heavy bag gloves are comfortable, flexible & tough with pre-curved foam for excellent hand protection.

Great Gloves!
I've tried several gloves and none fit as well as the Everlast Neoprene Gloves! Light weight, durable, great fit and easy to slip on and off. As for my other gloves (brandname withheld) the seams gave way in several areas of the glove. So, I would highly recommend Everlast Neoprene, you can't go wrong and you'll have fun hitting the bag.

Small but they work
Couldn't find the size listed on the order page. Assumed it was one size fits all which doesn't make much sense as I think about it now. Didn't occur to me at the time though. The gloves that showed up are marked small/medium. Fortunately my hands are about medium. If the gloves were any smaller at all I would not be able to use them. However.........I like them. They feel snug and secure. Comfortable. No slipping inside the gloves. NOT gonna fall off as I punch. I wanted more of a martial arts glove than a bulky boxing glove and that's what they seem to be (martial arts glove). No real padding on the sides/edges of the hands. Padding placed front and back of hand. Can't say about durability as I have used them only a few weeks but I see no problems. Four stars because I almost never give anything five stars.

Amazing pair of gloves.
I bought these gloves about a month ago and after seeing a negative review, I felt compelled to write a positive one. I have one of those freestanding heavy bags so the gloves I got came with the leather ones.. the ones that make you look like you have penguin hands. These Neoprene gloves are SO much better than the standard gloves that most heavy bags come with. They fit pretty comfortably too considering (what they don't tell you in the review) they are size Small - Medium. I'm 6'4 and they fit me. (honestly, they BARELY fit me. a tiny bit bigger and I'd be completely satisfied) Been using them for a month and haven't seen them rip or anything like that. A great purchase.

Good glove but not enough padding
The quality of this glove is very good. If you are using it for non-contact kickboxing/fitness exercise, and you just want to get a better feel for your punches.. This is perfect. However, if you are hitting any bag/mittens/etc., the padding is definitely too thin.

best bag gloves
I've tried a few bag gloves, these are my favorite. Good fit, great padding and pretty good wrist support without actually wrapping your hands. not cumbersome like boxing gloves most people use. couldn't find these in any stores any more, lucky i found them thru amazon... my old ones (same gloves) lasted quite a few years. definately worth the $.

Worth the money
This was my second pair of bag gloves. The first were Everlast kickboxing gloves which were a big mistake. I found it difficult to find a nice pair of women's gloves. These are quality construction and have a nice feel to them. They protect my knuckles nicely through 45 minutes of varied bag punching with no slipping, bruising or scrapping. The center bar in the palm took a little getting used to, but I have no complaints about these gloves, even though they were more expensive than many I have seen. They are worth the money.

Harbinger bag gloves for women
I teach a kickboxing class with a heavy bag and I have used 3 different brands of gloves, my class and I agree these gloves are by far the best, comfortable when you first use them and wear really well. Wash well and form to your hands nicely, I will only buy these gloves from now on.
Rating :
These gloves lasted me five years.
That's right - five full years of training anywhere from three to five times per week, and I only needed to replace them this week.
Stitching, leather and velcro all held together great. The amount of padding is just right for heavy bag work and full contact MMA sparring, nice and light with good sensitivity but thick enough for protection. The wrist wrap design is excellent, and the palm pad offers a nice extra bit of protection for smaller hands.
I'm now an instructor at my own MMA school, and I finally have to replace these, not because they're coming apart, but because the leather has naturally stretched from five years of heavy use, and has become loose enough to start chafing between the fingers. With this in mind, I want to echo another reviewer's hint about finding the glove size chart on the Harbinger website; you want your gloves to fit well, snugly but comfortably.
I have a pair of men's Century MMA gloves, and I have full size women's boxing gloves, but these are my go-to gloves for all applications.

Heavy bag gloves with wristwrap protection & open fingers for greater flexibility & ventilation
Customer Review :
I like them!
I like these gloves they do have good range of motion, protection, and also wrap tightly around the wrists which is important. The only thing I will say otherwise is that I have to tuck my hands down a little lower in them. I wish they had more protection over the second knuckle.

"Ever Last?" Hardly....
Stitching began to unravel after using only once or twice. Within a week, lots of frayed edges and the white foam pad covering the knuckles has become completely exposed at the seam. All this from nothing more than hitting focus pads and heavy bag. Contacted Everlast customer service by email, automated notice promised a response in 48 hours.... never heard from them.

Heavy Bag Gloves
Just what I wanted, didn't want actual boxing gloves, but needed something. Happy with them, they've held up to rigorous use so far.

OK
You have to wear wraps or you knukles take a beating. I expected more from everlast.

Good Padding, But they SMELL
As soon as I opened the package, a horrible odor was apparent. The gloves smell very bad. When I went to my dojo, I almost couldn't stand the smell while I used them. I tried calling Everlast to find out about it and they basically have a loop that never picks up. I left a message and they never returned my call. Anyone else have this smell problem? Were you able to get rid of it? I think it is a common problem with products that are made in china.

Good gloves
Gloves were bought to replace 20 year old Harbingers and these are exactly like the old ones when new. Don't expect to buy any more for quite a while. Had no problems with this seller.

great quality, great fit
They fit great, they're comfortable, and the quality is wonderful. With the grip bar and the velcro wrist wrap, they provide good support for punching full strength on the heavy bag.
Size wise, I'm a 5'6" woman who always has difficulty finding gloves that fit. A women's XL is often too small (too narrow, too short in the fingers) when I'm shopping for regular leather winter gloves, but a small fit fine with these (a little snug the first few times I wore them, but now that they're broken in they go on and come off easily) since they're fingerless. I wear them alone with no wraps underneath.

the best boxing gloves ever
I already had one and got a second pair for my daughter. They last forever and are extremely comfortable. Never get another style.
Rating :
Pretty Good
These gloves are pretty good for use on speed bags, stand ups, and moderate heavy bag work. I've used them once a day for the last few weeks, and they seem to be durable. The knuckle protection is superb and the wrist support is adequate but I still wrap my wrist with athletic tape for added safety. They're lightweight and fit comfortably on my hands. No staining or odor issues as I hang them outside of my gym bag rather than stuff them in it. Bottom line for anything other than full on maximum power heavy bag usage, these gloves are pretty good.
Rating :
Great Gloves
These gloves really hold the wrists tight and take a pounding. They don't cut the knuckles like some gloves and these gloves last forever. My last pair was so darn good that even after a year of heavy use (4 days a week), some jackass still stole them when I left them on a locker room bench for two minutes. Yep, they are that good. Amazon seems to be the only place to get them, they are a few bucks more than other gloves, and totally worth it.
I recommend them totally.

Questions & Answers
Question : Boxing Gloves?
Can I use just training gloves for the heavy bag, speed bag, double-end bag, etc.. or do I have to buy bag gloves, training gloves, and fight gloves? (im 12 yrs old.. going to start boxing tomorrow or next week) And Do I need separate headgear for training?
Answer:
just use training gloves, they are heavier and will condition you better, as well as protect your hands better, just use handwraps for the speed bag, the headgear is up to you, you could use bigger headgear for sparring if you want, but it will prepare you better if you use competition headgear, as that is what you will be using when you fight in amateur competition

Question : Can you use boxing gloves on a heavey bag, or do you need bag gloves?
I am new to boxing and am buying a 40lb heavey bag off a freind, and i was wandering, do i need to buy a pair of normal boxing gloves, and a pair of bag gloves, or will the normal gloves be alright?
Answer:
boxing gloves are larger and have more cushion and support your hand better.training bag gloves are light and have less protection so that you can feel what your doing a little better. it´s intended for training. the normal gloves are made to protect your hands, so you should use the one bag gloves for your bag. and the normal ones in the ring. good luck. =)

Question : My hands hurt when hitting the heavy bag with boxing gloves?
My hands hurt when i hit a heavy bag with boxing gloves. I don't use hand wrap, but I don't think that is the problem. When I use mma gloves, the pain that i felt with boxing gloves goes away, and since they give less protection, I don't think that protection is an issue. Maybe i'm clenching my fist wrong when wearing boxing gloves?
Answer:
Your MMA gloves are tighter around your hands, therefor they act as a type of handwrap- keeping everything tight and compact, eventhough you should wear a handwrap with your mma gloves too by the way! anyway, point is that in a boxing mit, your hands are free inside the mit moving around, and are therefor not as compact. you MUST wear handwrap when practicing with heavy bag or a punchmate. try it, you'll feel the difference!
|
Question : Is there a difference between heavy bag gloves and boxing gloves?
Is there a difference between heavy bag gloves and boxing gloves?
Answer:
actually bag gloves are not boxing gloves, they don't have much or any padding only leather to protect your hand from abrasion. boxing gloves have padding to cushion the punch and protect the hand.
|
Question : Can you use bag boxing gloves for sparring purposes?
I have the Rival RS1 Boxing Gloves. They are called "bag" gloves, and should be used for punching bags, but I want to spar as well. Do I need a new pair of gloves or am I okay with the "bag" gloves?
Answer:
i would say no. bag gloves are for hitting the bag. sparring requires your hands to be wrapped and more padding to protect your hands as sparring is usually done in abundance and therefore your hands need to be protected.

Question : Would I gain more power if i used 10oz boxing gloves when hitting the heavy bag?
I was using normal bag gloves, but they are fairly light and i would like to gain more power in my punches, so would using 10oz gloves on the bag help to improve that?
Answer:
No, you need to use heavier gloves to condition your arms.. You will adapt to the heavier gloves and come fight time, you will feel much stronger and faster, which are two major components of power. But more importantly, you need to be taught or if you already know.....to improve the execution of your punch.. A lot of fighters go throughout their careers, lacking punching-power simply because they were never taught from the start, how to properly execute a punch...So that it why it is not uncommon to see even professional fighters today, throwing what is commonly referred to as "Arm" punches because they have yet to master turning their body and rotating the ball or heel of their feet....Sluggers in particular who don't know how to properly and effectively deliver a punch, usually tire out, even when they have their opponent in trouble....Oh and I suggest you use 12-ounce bag-gloves.. That it was I used as a middle-weight.. Former heavy-weight contender "Ron Lyle" hit extremely hard back in his day so while sparring, he would use 18-ounce gloves! So make sure that the gloves you train with on the bag, are weight-appropriate.. Good luck!..

Question : How to use boxing gloves with no bag?

|
Question : What boxing gloves should i use when doing bag work?
I have been boxing for a couple of months now and i am just wondering whether it is better to use actually sparring gloves (12oz, ect) for bag work or just use bag gloves?
Answer:
Professionals use 14-16 oz. bag gloves but you can really get away with using anything, really. Just make sure it's not Everlast.

Question : Would buying a heavy bag and boxing gloves keep my skills from getting rusty?
i cant afford Muay Thai lessons every month. If i bought a heavy bag and some gloves and went to hell on it using my form would that help me from not getting rusty? Could i buy MMA Gloves instead of boxing gloves for the heavy bag? would that work just as well? Thank youI do wrestle/ But im training for MMA as well
Answer:
It would be quite helpful only if you work on your technique and of course if you know how to punch with correct technique. Having a teacher around would be more beneficial as he can guide you a bit along the way, but like I said just practicing your technique at least for 1/2 n hr a day would make you better than you were the week before.
