About adidas
The vision of company founder Adolf Dassler has long become reality, and his corporate philosophy the guiding principle for successor generations. The idea was as simple as it was brilliant. Adi Dassler’s aim was to provide every athlete with the best possible equipment. It all began in 1920, when Adi Dassler made his first shoes using the few materials available after the First World War.
The adidas name dates back to 1948, deriving from the first two syllables of Adi Dassler’s first and last name. One year later, Adi Dassler registered the Three Stripes as a trademark.

After a period spanning almost 70 years, the Dassler Family withdrew from the company in 1989, and the enterprise was transformed into a corporation ("Aktiengesellschaft"). French-born Robert Louis-Dreyfus was Chairman of the Executive Board from April 1993 to March 2001. It was he who initiated adidas’ flotation on the stock market in November 1995. adidas--a name that stands for competence in all sectors of sport around the globe. Today, the adidas product range extends from shoes, apparel and accessories for basketball, soccer, fitness and training to adventure, trail and golf.

Worst ball ever

The ball cracked at the first inflation ... and it was a gift for my nephew ... what a dissapointment for him

Rating :

Not as good as 2006

Ball is well made but of poor material. The quality of the material is cheaper than before and thus it scuffs easily.
Overall a good purchase. A little flavour of the World Cup for a reasonable price.

Mine also leaks.

Load of crap. I got this ball in the mail and pumped it up immediately. I did not overfill it. Anyway, I kicked it around for a while and was satisfied. I noticed one of the stitching pads had an edge that was higher than the others, but I thought nothing of it (this is how it came). The next morning, the ball was almost completely flat. I pumped it up again and realized it was almost completely deflated in an hour, and had lost a significant amount of air in 20 minutes. I put it under water to discover where the leak was, and discovered no less than SIX before giving up bothering to find more. This was along about 3 lines of stitching! This ball is trash, don't bother.

Was excited

I was excited to get this ball, but when it arrived i quickly noticed a leak in one of the stitching, i tried pump it up but it wouldn't stay pumped for long.

Rating :

great if it didnt leak air

Great looking ball but when i first received it I noticed it was leaking a little air. It's a little annoying having to re-pump every once in a while.

Not worth paying return shipping for another ball, so I'll just deal with it. Maybe give it to my dog.

Nice Ball, heavy, somewhat sticky

I bought the white version of this ball at Sports Chalet about a month ago. My purpose in buying it was mainly for Intramural college soccer games and for goal keeper training.

--Pros.
Aesthetically beautiful
Heavy: Allows for different flight patterns.
Good for indoor soccer
Ball stays on the ground more which demands more passing action rather than serving
Draws curious players (meet new people): I found it helpful if I walked onto a pitch alone and wanted to join an ongoing game.
easy to clean: the material, I guess, makes stains come out easily under some water and a paper towel

--Cons:
Heavy: More difficult to make it fly farther (frustrating if you are a keeper)
Tires your legs out when taking many free kicks in practice (but good for leg conditioning)

Sticky: I found the ball to occasionally get caught under my foot when I would do a sweeping motion over the ball while dribbling quickly.

My conclusion:
I now use this ball for my indoor soccer matches and whenever there is an outdoor match that does not matter if I win or lose. I found it too heavy for my own liking, but many of my friends liked it better. It is also great to use as an alternative ball when training a goalkeeper as it makes for different ball reactions and requires more force to stop with hands.

Not a bad ball at all

We got this ball to train with it and although it is OK, it does have a few minor issues, but for the price you pay I do not think they are too important, the ball is kind of on the bouncy side which means you have to get used to it to actually control it well, which happens after using it for a little while....

when you pass long shots at ground level it tends to roll slightly to the left or right which means it is not as well balanced as other more expensive balls which go straight, but you learn how to pass with it quite soon. it is very sturdy and retains air well.

Not a bad ball at all, we are a bunch of old semi-pro or amateur players and we liked the ball.....

good ball for the money! great look...

the ball is perfect for training , the colors of the ball are nice, easy to follow on the field.

Headache

I purchase many products on amazon and this is the first negative experience I've had. I meant to order a different size ball than I did, I realized I orded the wrong size and immediately called to change the order. I was told that they had cancelled my order and that everything should be fine. Then a few days later the ball came, I called them up again to ask for an exchange for a larger size ball. It ended up that with the return fees and extra shipping costs, I would have to pay an extra 65 percent of the entire original price to have a replacement ball sent out.
They carry good products, but I'd rather use a company with more customer friendly policies (sorry if there are spelling errors, I'm on my phone)

Great all around ball

I bought this ball at Sports Authority a few days ago, it's hands down the best ball I've used to date.
As mentioned in the other review, it's a beautiful ball - very nice to look at and handle. Looks just like the 2010 World Cup balls, but only $15.
New pattern is a significant improvement over the stitched pentagon pattern of classic balls, it seems that you can shape shots considerably more easily than before. The outer surface also is quite grippy, so putting spin on the ball (and shutting it down as a goalie) is very easy.

The only downside is that the ball gets very slippery when damp/wet, and that the printed pattern on the cover scuffs fairly easily (but you bought it to play with anyway).

Overall, an excellent ball, but I could do with a latex bladder for a bit more rebound and bounce. For $15, you can't go wrong.

Customer Review :

Not a great ball but certainly not worth whining about!

I am like one of the top 500,000 goalkeepers in the U.S. and I bought this ball for the novelty of it. I didn't like it for use in drills or game play as it was not the truest ball I have ever played with but I never had any problems STOPPING it when rolling to me; like with any other ball I just kept my body in front of it and used sound fundamentals to pick it up and secure it...I did this several hundred times routinely. What I did not like was the movement at higher velocities coming at me. I am sure handed and will usually catch while others block or punch and I found myself having to block and punch more.

In reality while I returned the ball to the store after a month I should thank this ball because if anything it helped sharpen me up since I had to react to its sometimes unpredictable aerial movement. After all the keeper position requires sound fundamentals and quick reactions so it helped this 40 year old rusty coach and rec. league player step up my game after not playing for several years.

I would not recommend this ball for match play...it is too expensive and actually favors the goalkeepers because it is harder to kick on target for field players.

If you want a novelty to display or simply remember the many magical moments of the 2010 World Cup I would buy the less expensive "adidas World Cup 2010 Repliqué Soccer Ball" from Amazon for around $25.00 but if you want the real thing and can afford it I would check out World Soccer Club, they have a link for "FIFA WORLD CUP BALLS" where you can find the replica of the match most memorable to you. Every match has the official ball with the two teams playing stamped on them used for the match and you can buy the real deal; so it looks just like this ball but has "England" and "USA" printed on it for the US v. England match, for example (hope that made sense, could have been better written).

Nice design, sleek look and interesting topic of conversation. I would be surprised if the previous reviewer is who he claims to be but I guess with so many professionals over dramatizing the sport I shouldn't be. Soccer/Football is a great game but when a player blames the ball that is just sad! I felt bad for the keeper when I saw the fundamental error in the first match that went for a goal...I did this a couple times before I turned 10 and it was hard to watch but I stood by the keeper and expected him to bounce back. But, after reading the review I have to say I don't feel bad for him anymore as the review was just a long whine about the ball, the ball, the ball. It is never the balls fault, get over it or you'll never improve your game.

I like it a lot

I am a bit older than David Beckham and I play 2-3 rec games a week with players ranging from 17-55 years old. I spend about 50% of my time in goal, and the other 50% is split between midfield and forward.

I bought one of these about 6 weeks before the world cup so that my friends and I could play with it and see what it was like. The reviews have been mixed. It is within a few grams of the maximum FIFA approved weight, yet people regularly comment that it seems light when they first handle it. I don't find it so, but it did take a few kicks to get used to how it plays for long balls and corner kicks. I'd call it a little (not a lot) bouncy.

As a field player, I love the way it plays on the ground. It gives great control for dribbling and moving downfield. I also like the way it shoots. Perhaps if I was a more precise shooter, I'd feel differently, but I am happy to hit the quarter of the goal I am aiming for, and I can do that as well with this ball as with most others. I like shooting this ball.

As a goalie, I am not as enthralled. The ball seems to knuckle off a striker's foot very easily, giving it that no-spin, slightly unpredictable flight path. When I can get a glove on it, the grip is great.

Overall, I like it a lot. Most of the people I play with agree, but definitely not all of them.

LOVE IT

Any other ball became so easy to play with after playing with the Jabulani. It helped improving my skills because the ball requires you to improve them.

Great gift for young, exceptionally talented soccer player

What do you get the kid who has lots? If he's a great soccer player, this ball. He loved it, which made me happy.

WORST BALL EVER

This ball is a complete disgrace. I am like the third best goalkeeper in England and I can't even stop this thing. A buddy of mine kicked a slow roller to me and I completely muffed it in front of billions of people. Now people in my country will never forgive me for this. And it wasn't even my fault! IT WAS THE BALL!!! It dipped and swerved and I could only get my fingertips on it. I hate this ball. Now James will be the goalkeeper for England but I bet he can't stop this thing either. It's like impossible.

100% thermoplastic polyurethane.

Customer Review :

Excellent match ball for club, HS, and training

This is an excellent non-professional match ball, suitable for club, high school, and training purposes. The outer skin is smooth, thermally bonded (seamless), and has a softer padded panel as compared to the professional UEFA grade match ball. The ball has a good feel and well balanced as advertised. Although the outer skin is smooth - it feels "sticky" - has a lot of friction to it making it an excellent ball for practicing dribbling and control. The feel and construction is the same or very similar to a 2008 MLS match ball.

Depite the silver color of the photo - the ball is all white with black/yellow trim.

With thermal bonding - I found you need to keep the ball well inflated at all times. I deflated a thermal bonded ball for travel and the seams cracked and broke when deflated - bad move. I inflated the ball and it works as before, but water now can get into the ball.

I gave the ball 4/5 stars because there are very small ripples in the skin - unlike the professional UEFA match ball which was perfect and remains so after a year+ of use in indoor soccer games. But for $40 at Amazon.com - this is an excellent buy.

Very bad product. very low durability

Questions & Answers
Question : what do you think about this article?
From the Marbles Sun Nov 22, 2009 10:17 pm ESTForget Kobe, Tiger, Brady; Jimmie Johnson is today's top athleteBy Jay BusbeeOn Sunday night, Jimmie Johnson clinched his fourth straight Sprint Cup championship, and in so doing cemented his place among the greats of the sport. But he's done more than that; he's now propelled himself above and beyond NASCAR. He's the most successful athlete currently competing right now, and it's not even close. Were this Tiger Woods snagging his fourth straight Masters, or Kobe Bryant clinching his fourth straight ring, or Tom Brady capturing his fourth straight Super Bowl, you'd be getting their greatness rammed down your throat 24/7. But this is NASCAR; the sports fan public knows they can't throw a pass 50 yards or hit a golf ball 300, but they figure they know how to drive fast and turn left. How hard could it be for Johnson to win some of those little races, huh?Answer: plenty. Put aside the physical demands -- the intense heat of the car's interior, the physical strength needed to wheel a car for 500 miles. Even running a race -- to say nothing of winning one, or winning an entire season -- requires the mental discipline, ultrafast-twitch reflexes and utter, stone-cold fearlessness that only the best athletes possess. (And don't even start the whole "the car's the star, not the driver" nonsense. Equipment is a key element of every sport. When's the last time you saw a baseball player succeed without a bat, or a football player succeed without pads?) So, with the playing field leveled, let's break down why Johnson is the top athlete at work today. For starters, you could argue that the level of competition in every single sport right now is the highest it's ever been. Kids train practically from birth to play one sport; sophisticated training techniques make today's marginal athletes the equivalent of yesterday's All-Stars.Even so, Johnson has established a four-year gap between himself and his nearest competitors that's greater than any other athlete in any other sport. Nobody in any league is a prohibitive favorite; even Tiger is vulnerable these days.Plenty of people both inside and outside NASCAR are dismissing Johnson's accomplishments, and that's too bad. They're missing out on history here. Nobody else is riding as high these days, in any sport, anywhere. And anybody who thinks it's certain to end in 2010 ... well, didn't we think that coming into 2007, 2008 and 2009?Bandwagoners, here's a heads-up: push aside your Yankees caps, Patriots jerseys and Cowboys jackets and make room for some of Jimmie Johnson's gear. (He's the 48.) If you're the type of person who wants to jump on board a proven winning train, you've got one right here waiting for you, ready to roll. For everyone else, take a moment -- just a moment, that's all -- to applaud what Johnson's doing here. You're not going to see anything like this again anytime soon.

Answer:
The problem is is you can't determine a championship with 10 races. You can't compare the championships of todays format (the chase) to those of the past (the old points system). What Jimmie did was great no doubt but you can not compare his success with a different format from the past. Sorry but I never liked the chase so no matter what the results are ... they are flawed in my opinion.

Question : What is the most fuel-efficient, rugged vehicle for a very active lifestyle?
I've always driven Jeeps because I like the flat, long bed in the back (my back seats are always folded down) that hold my camping equipment, kayak, snowboard, tools, tubes, surfboard, bikes, or whatever else I'm lugging that day. I also sleep in the back on long road trips as a safer alternative to a tent (I can lock the doors when I am alone). I'm not a fan of putting my surfboard and other sports gear on top of my car because of road debris. I live in snowy New England and love 4WD...and I go off-roading, so I actually use my SUV as an SUV. But I want something better for the environment and with better gas milage. I've considered Subaru Outback, Ford Escape Hybrid, Volvo Cross Country (but this is a bit $$ for me). Any thoughts? Anyone is a similar dilemma? Thanks for your input!

Answer:
Actually, if you're looking for an efficient 4x4, you can't do much better than the Jeep Patriot Like other Jeeps, it is trail-rated when configured with four-wheel drive. It's rated at 22 city/27 highway, vs. 19/26 for the Subaru and 29/27 for the Escape. The escape will be greener only if you do most of your driving in the city. If you're on the open road. you'll be getting the same fuel economy as the Patriot, and you will have paid $10,000 more for the privilege.Auto Week magazine recently tested several alternatve vehicles. They concluded that you'd have to drive the Escape more than 87,000 to save justify te extra cost.

Answer:
That is a pretty exhaustive list. If you MUST wear makeup, bring that, but you really don't need a ton of stuff. Whatever you feel you CANNOT live without for a month, bring. Don't bring any knives (no pocket knife). If you want you could bring a little first aid kit-type thing. I use advil at least once a week, so I bring that with me.

Question : how can i contact authorized of the brands (adidas, nike, ect..) for businnes?
i want to start a new job in north cyprus and i dont know how can i to come to contact whit authorized of the brands.. i want to open a big shopping center about sports.. (footwear, equipment, apparel, accesories, fan gear..)

Answer:
Probably the best way to go about doing this is talk to a local representative. I live in Michigan, and their are all kinds of factroy outlet stores, start out here (that is start small) and they will eventually lead you in the right direction. The other thing you can do is go to their cooperate websites and look at the list of partners, contact them and find out how they obtained the brand. If you "surf" the site enough you may also find your own direct way to speak to one of their representatives that can turn you into the right direction.I know like anything this sounds like a lot of work, but sometimes it takes work to get what it is you want, keep being persistant and you will get what you want.I hope I have been of some help and Good Luck !
