Customer Review :

Great Buy

I was looking for something powerful just to use for fun, but what i found was that with a little practice, the 3/8" steel shots are deadly at about ten yards and aim is flawless (once you get the hang of it) i dont use the sight, however, i just kind of eye it, but that's all you need. I reccomend it highly, whether for fun or pest control (which is one in the same for me) keep in mind, though, it isn't a toy.

WOW

the slingshot sucks the rubber bands is worthless the ain is gimmicy and the holder thing is good but to put it on you have to scratch ur slingshot

Rating :

Great slingshot, but weak bands.

Overally, product is nice and feature packed. Only disadvantage I found is that, rubber bands are quite weak. As manual says, this is toy for 14 aged or over. For that target group, the bands are easy to stretch, and does not provide enough force for distances and shots, kids of that age like to play with. On the other hand, product itself is of very good quality, sturdy and heavy, so usability for younger kids is also questionable. Anyways, device looks really cool, and most dads will found themselves playing with it, instead of their sons :)

i was disapointed

i bought this slingshot after reading a few reviews on it and all said it was up to par after receving it i shot it mayby 5 times and the so called leather pouch riped right in half so idk if mine was defective or what

Rating :

A good slingshot...

I have about four hundred rounds downrange and I am impressed. One quarter inch steel shot has more range than I have accuracy but the three eights inch shot really hits with deadly force. Make no mistake, this is no toy to place in the hands of an irresponsible young child. Safety training should be mandatory and intensive. The little sight stick proved to be of little value with first use but the more I shoot the more I find myself using the sight to help create a target box for quicker target acquisition. Practice, practice and know what's behind your target before firing in congested areas. Have fun, Lynn....

These Durable Aluminum Bolts Are Tough Enough To Stand Up To Repeated Use. Arrow Length Is Just Over 6.25" Makes For A Great Gift For The Crossbow Enthusiast In Your Life

Customer Review :

Too fragile

I have used both these aluminum bolts and the plastic bolts with my 80 lb. Cobra crossbow pistol and can tell you that the black plastic rear section of the aluminum bolts WILL break after only a few shots. I now use only the plastic bolts (they have metal target tips) sold by Amazon and other sites. The plastic bolts are far more durable. Sometimes the metal tip of the plastic bolts will pull off. These can be glued back on very easily. On the other hand, the aluminum bolts are not repairable. Also, contrary to another review here, the aluminum bolts are about 2-3 grams heavier than the plastic bolts. The plastic bolts are quite accurate and retain their shape even after hard hits. Hope this helps.

good money

these are some good bolts for the money
but remeber they are bolts not arrows
so they only work on crossbows....i got confused
on em and got it accidentally got these
instead of the arrows but, out of all these are
very powerful arrows (also depends on witch bow u have)
and also remeber these can be used for fun and all but also cause really
seiouse damage and maby death if used incorrectly so please if you
use this iteam be mature about it and only shoot animals or targets

Best chice

Best choice for that tape of arrows. very low price for that quantity. shipping also was fast and adequate

Too small to be of any use

These bolts are too small to be of any use, maybe a target pistol , not for a larger crossbow

Rating :

Only one shot, but also bang for your buck

I have the 80 lb pistol crossbow with the self cocking handle. These things shoot awesome and fast! I'm shooting at a wood box made of something like white or yellow pine. These things stick into the wood about an inch -- hard to get out. I'd say 90% of the time the back plastic part pops off and breaks. A few times I was able to use a arrow a second time, but even then I was wary because the impact of the arrow with the wood had made the aluminum arrow slightly curved, this happened every time. I guess I should shoot into something softer like a Styrofoam target or something. One time i missed and this thing went right through a metal cabinet which was probably like the thickness of a gym locker. Had to open the cabinet and look for it inside. Another time I hit a cement cinder block and the arrow took a nice big deep chunk out of it.

Mohican Hip Arrow Holster

Customer Review :

Good Cheap Arrow Holster

My son received this arrow holster for Christmas and has been very pleased with it's arrow capacity and with the belt clip. It's a nice holster for beginner's.

Rating :

does its job

I recieved this product a week ago and find it able to do its job. I use it for back yard shooting and it ok. not a rugged typ of quiver for the field but very adequet for back yard plinking. very light weight and affordible. so if you are looking for something to hold your arrow while you practice this is a good choice. also short enought for the kids to wear while they practice. has a clip that just slides on a pocket. front or back arrow faceing, its just a good low price holster.

Rating :

Son likes it

Seems built well enough. Holds arrows and stays on his belt loop. Overall a good product until he is big enough ( he's only 10 now) for a back quiver. Price was right.

Rating :

Does what it says-

Hold your arrows. it does so with out any gee whiz accessories. Simple tube that hooks onto your belt. nothing fancy- just good old fashioned know how.

Rating :

Nice inexpensive quiver

The Mohican quiver arrived in excellent shape. This was purchased for a 10yr old to carry extra arrows while target shooting. You can't beat this quiver for the price. It is made well and clips easily onto a belt.

Questions & Answers
Question : How to fine the averages in Archery?
So, i have test coming up on how to find the average end score, average arrow score, and average target ring score for archery. Anyone know how to?

Answer:
You take your total for the end or the match and divide it by the number of arrows you've shot.So take a regular FITA match, it's 144 arrows, and you shoot a 1200. Average score for the match is then 1200/144 = 8.3An end in archery varies, an NFAA indoor end consists of 5 arrows, an NAA indoor end has 3 arrows, NAA outdoor end uses 6 arrows for the long distance portion.

Question : How do bow sight work for archery? How are they attached onto a recurve bow?
I'm new to archery. I bought a beginners set with a fiberglass recurve bow and now i want to get better at archery. I want to shoot with all those extra equipments (like sights, shock absorbers) but i dont understand how they work. Someone explain to me what they do exactly, and how they are attached to a recurve bow. I want to know about sights, stablizers, shock absorbers, arrow rest, and anything else there is to know. A diagram or picture would be very nice... Also if you can, please tell me what the average price for each accessory is.

Answer:
Bow sights work using pins that you line up. In practic you should draw the string back and hold it at the same place every time that way your eye is in the same place. The sights mount above the arow rest. Your bow may not have the mounts. Good luck.

Question : How do you find the trajectory of an arrow in archery?
I'm doing a project in math class on how math relates to archery, and I'm trying to find equations on how to figure the trajectory of an arrow to a target. Just an equation would be wonderful, but pictures would be much more helpful.

Answer:
as with any projectile, the trajectory of an arrow can be somewhat predicted using the standard parabolic equations s=vt-1/2at^2 where v is the initial velocity and a is the acceleration caused by gravity. But to get the real trajectory the equation becomes very very complicated. You see an arrow is not a simple projectile, unlike a bullet an arrow has a long shaft, this complicates matters a lot, not only does the shaft increase the area of the arrow causing drag, it also introduces flex. When you shoot an arrow, the front end of the arrow doesn't accelerate as fast as the tail end, causing the shaft to bend. There used to be a site written by an engineer, Joe Tapley who is also an archer. His explanation of the physics of arrow flight is the most comprehensive I've seen so far. Do a search of his name, there's bound to be a mirror of it somewhere out there.

Question : archery...?
ok, my parents wont let me hunt with a firearm, but they said its all right to hunt with a bow and arrow. i know little about archery. i know that you dont have to wear any orange, and you have to be super quiet and use scents and calls and stuff to get them to come into bow range. how far is bow range? let me know what you think about archery, and please explain in detail about everything that goes along with archery.

Answer:
Archery is a real man's way to hunt. It is tens times more challenging, but 200 times more rewarding. The range I shoot my bow is from 60 yards and under. I have shot above 60 but find that I am not accurate enough to ensure a clean kill. Archery can be expensive if you buy the best of the best, but its cheap compared to buying the best of the best in rifle equipment. You will need to be in tip top shape and peak physical condition. Archers cover a lot of ground on any and all hunts, but archery gets you extremely close to big game. It is the most fun I have ever had on a hunt. Get some good camo clothes and gear. Because most archery seasons are earlier in the year than rifle seasons, the weather can be hotter, so get a good pack with a hydration system as well. You will need to practice calling for animals like elk and whitletail deer. Scents are always a good idea during the rut or mating season for an animal. Don't get discouraged if you do not kill an animal the first year you hunt with a bow, it is tough and takes a lot of practice! A lot! Go to your local sporting goods store or archery shop and talk to them about getting set up. I shoot a Hoyt Vectrix with all Fuse accessories and a Scott string release. I shoot Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350 arrows with AAE Max Hunter Vanes and Muzzy MX-4 broadheads. Nothing shoots better! Give it a try and you will be hooked for life!

Question : Is archery equipment considered a weapon in the state of Colorado?
I know that there are people that look at it both ways some say that it is others say no. If it isn't then ex felons can use archery equipment to hunt wildlife to help with foood expenses.

Answer:
"It is unlawful for any person convicted of a felony or conspiracy or attempt to commit a felony, or misdemeanor domestic violence or adjudicated delinquent for a felony to possess a firearm."Archery equipment does not fall in to the category of firearms.

Question : What length archery bow string do i need to buy?
I have a wooden recurve bow. It says 60". Do i need to buy a 60" string or do i need a shorter length? Im new to archery and this bow was given to me.

Answer:
The May 2000 AMO (Archery Manufacturers & Merchants Organization - now under the leadership of the Archery Trade Association) Standards states "AMO Bow Length Standard is designated to be three inches longer than AMO Bow String Master that braces bow at proper String or Brace Height. Bow String Master will carry only the bow length designation. Example: A Bow String Master designated as AMO 66” (bow length) will have an actual length under tension of 63”."That means your bowstring should be approximately 3 inches shorter than the bow's AMO length (the AMO length of your bow is 60 inches - IF it says AMO 60" [or 60" AMO] on the bow). If it actually is 60" AMO, just take the bow to a good archery store and ask for a 60-inch AMO string. Note: I said "archery store", NOT "Cabela's", "Gander Mountain", "Bass Pro", or any of those other big-box "sporting goods" stores; places like Cabela's, et al, are NOT "archery stores", they just happen to have "archery departments". Go to the real archery pros at an archery store.Once you have the string, adjust the brace height -- the folks at the archery store can help you with this. They live, breathe and eat ARCHERY -- not fishing, football or guns.Actually, just take the bow to an archery store and have them look it over. As has been said, it should be checked over for cracks and such. Be safe -- even a small crack in the wrong place can mean a broken bow and a possible hospital stay.

Question : Archery???
which of these bows look better to you? by better I mean stronger and better qaulity and brand. etc(I dont care about what it comes with or anything, I just want to know what you think of the BOW. and if you dont KNOW which one is better. dont guess.)http://academy.com/index.php?page=content&target=products/outdoors/hunting/archery/bows_youth &start=0&selectedSKU=0343-01089-0001http://academy.com/index.php?page=content&target=products/outdoo rs/hunting/archery/bows_youth&start=0&selectedSKU=0343-00258-1076Thanks for the help.

Answer:
go to wal-mart get the bow for $35 the kids will enjoy it

Question : What is the Elvish symbol for archery?
I'm trying to design an archery tattoo and I thought the maybe the elfen symbol would be a neat one. Or if anyone else has better archery tattoo ideas then by all means suggest away.

Answer:
An arch thru the shaft of a fully fletched arrow is the elfin symbol. You can use the symbol for Sagittarius (the Archer)

Question : Is it okay to hold an archery bow with my right hand holding the bow and my left hand holding the bow string?
If you have any questions (and you know stuff about archery) just post it as an answer please and I'l provied additional information :)

Answer:
You do that with a left handed bow, if you're left eye dominant that is. Doing that with a right handed bow will cause the arrow to fly off to the left. That is assuming you're shooting a recurve bow with fingers, as opposed to a compound bow with release.

Question : Why does PSE archery list two different IBO speeds for the same bow?
In the PSE archery catalogue why do they put two different IBO speed ratings on the same bow which one is correct? They do this with all of there bows. But isn't IBO spec for a 350 grain arrow at 70 LB draw weight and a 30" draw length? If these are the specs for IBO how can the speeds be different for the same bow?

Answer:
No two arrows are identical & so PSE cover this imperfection by giving you an approximate top arrow speed. ;)Even if at full draw, if you're not quite on the back wall on one shot & the next you are, this can account for +/- 2-3fps
