Great radiant barrier!

Arrived very quickly in an envelope. The blankets are tiny, neatly folded and individually packed into mini zip lock baggies.

I purchased this four-pack for inclusion in an emergency "Grab-n-Go Bag".
When I discovered that I already had some, I decided to open one up and check it out.

Each mylar blanket is thin, very light-weight, shiny on both sides and partially see-thru.

While holding it up for inspection, I noticed that the sun shining into my window wasn't as intense as it normally is. With that in mind, I took a couple to work and taped them to windows that radiate heat unmercifully (summer in Texas), and the room immediately seemed to be cooler.

What a great product! It is much less expensive, at around a dollar each, than window film.

These space/emergency blankets are 52" x 84".

If you want a slightly bigger sheet, there are twelve (12) 62" x 82" blankets for $12.50, available on Amazon.com ( search for B000K2O8WY ) with free S&H.

Definitely a five-star product for price, delivery speed, packaging and multi-purposefulness!


UPDATE: If you use this as a radiant barrier taped to a window, be advised that the material is mildly flammable. After covering several windows at work, the question was raised as to the flash point and combustability of this effective, low-cost radiant heat blocking solution. The material immediately ignites with a lighter, and the flames start to slowly consume the material. Not as fast as paper, but still still quickly enough to be deemed a safety hazard at my workplace. Looks like I'll have to save these for camping and emergency use and rely on window film to keep radiant heat out of buildings.

Bait and Switch. Do not buy!

Same problem as the other bad reviews. They say you will get Quakecare mylar, but what you get is Everdixie rescue blanket, which is aluminized non-stretch polyester. I just hope they hold up when I really need them. Maybe i'll use 1 and see how it holds up and update my review if it's totally horrible.

Off Label Use in Growing

I am an avid home gardener and need to amplify light in a small space. Mylar when it is bundled in the future will be known as transparent aluminum. It has made my growing area change from eyesore to pleasant. I hang it in a circle from metal hangers Joan Crawford or muffler hangers. Strong, durable and cheap from this seller at a dollar each. Oh yeah, to hang it I use blue removeable tape.

Cat repellent

I love my cats but I don't love their hair all over my bed. I put the shiny, crinkly thermal blanket over top and they won't go near it. I imagine you could put it anywhere you don't want your cats to go.

I was maced :(

Alright, i bought this for my girlfriend for her security. We were going for a stroll when she saw a wasp on my shoulder and panicked. She maced only my shoulder area. The was was clearly dying afterwards, and the skin on my neck down to my shoulder soon became inflammed and burned like hell for the better part of two hours. This was with a light dosage, and i was wearing a T-shirt. My only concern was that it doesn't mist, but does more a of a waterjet function with a little mist added to it. Great product. Can't imagine what a high dosage to the face would do.

P.s. my girlfriend insists on saying the wings were burnt completely off, so there ya go :)

My girlfriend recently moved downtown to a fairly sketchy neighborhood. Not of age to own a gun, I went with the next best thing: Pepper Spray. I read pepper spray is better than mace and just dominates the attacker to I went with this. Test spray went perfectly. The handy key chain allows for easy carry and no excuse to not have it at all times. Hopefully she never has to use it, but just in case she'll be taking down her assailant and making them feel retarded with this pretty pink pepper spray.

Great Product for Every Women to have

I am a college student who takes mostly night classes. I did a lot of research before I bought this pepper spray. It came in perfect condition and looks exactly like it did on the website. I have not had a chance to use it (I hope I never have to), but knowing I have it makes me feel better when walking alone. I did test it out in an open field away from everyone to see if it works and I had no problem with spraying it or putting the safety on. It fits in my purse and I have it on my keychain.

Carry it everywhere

My main purpose for buying it is that I like to jog and I do this alone. I feel safer knowing I have this and I actually jog with it in my hand. I have the quick release on my fanny pack but I just feel better actually carrying it. I have sprayed it once just to make sure it works and also what kind of distance I have with it. I have not had to use it since though - which is very good. Good product and it was an added bonus to help support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

A Little Piece of Mind - Recommended

We bought this SABRE Pepper Spray for my daughter to carry with her when traveling to and from college, which is 6 hours in each direction. We know that SABRE is one of the main manufactures of Pepper Spray so felt comfortable with the brand. Here are my observations:

Likes -
+ Main Unit is perfect sized for the hand
+ Belt\Strap Clip is well designed so it is not likely to snag
+ Quick Release Key Ring works as expected and allows for detaching the Pepper Spray when needed

Dislikes -
- While the activation plunger must be twisted to use, I am not positive that it can't be positioned by accident
- Has limited shelf life, mine "expires" in March 2014 (4 years out)

My daughter says she feels better having it, but we still stress the importance of avoiding situations where it could be needed.

This is a conveniently sized canister that has bought us a little piece of mind.

Easy to Use, Helpful to Have

Although the release is very easy to slide over, I carry my keys in my scrubs pocket and they frequently get thrown around. I have never had the spray go off by accident. The quick release is useful to have, but in a spur-of-the-moment situation, I don't think that you'll have the mental capacity to release it from the key chain, slide the safety release, and use the spray. My only recommendation is that you keep it handy as it is.

Having this on my key chain definitely makes me feel safer, but to be sure I would recommend to all buyers to supplement this purchase with basic self defense classes. Although this pepper spray is easy to use, it will also be easy for your attacker to use against YOU.

The clip on the spray itself is an added bonus. I sometimes clip it directly to my shirt to have it available for use when I am not carrying my keys.

Sabre Compact Pepper Spray with quick release

Thankfully I haven't had to use this yet, but we tested it and it worked perfectly. It was easy to operate and shot out in a solid stream that went a good distance. Nice item to have around for just a little piece of mind.

Grab-n-go

These foil mylar sheets are very strong, lightweight, and come individually packaged in a sealed plastic bag measuring about 4"x3"x1/4". As shown in the photo that I provided (in the customer images) of one of the unopened packages in the palm of my hand, it will easily fit into a pocket or purse. With a roll of duct tape and a length of paracord, a tent, sleeping bag, poncho, or rain/sun shelter can easily be configured. I wrapped myself up into one of these and found that I was nearly as warm as if wearing a down parka within seconds. I bought these to carry in a grab-n-go bag.

Note:
I found that I could cover the inside of my "hung sash windows" with this foiled mylar and cut my electric bill in half. I was able to do two windows per sheet and simply taped around all four sides with duct tape.

Got the horror stories while taking a camping class at REI. Bought these for each of our backpacks and the car. We opened one to show our kids how and when to use it if they got lost. They are as advertised, and much cheaper than the store.

Great price for Versatile Mylar Foil

You can use these reflective mylar foil sheets for dozens of applications - and with 12 huge sheets you'll have plenty left over even after tossing 2 in each of your cars!

Mylar is strong, light and (this metalized type) is highly reflective, both of light and thermal energy. Normally this stuff costs quite a bit, especially if you buy it packaged for some of its other common uses. Mylar does come in several thicknesses and these blankets are cut from one of the thinner types (< 1mm). At this thickness even the metalized mylar is partially transparent, so be aware of this if you plan to use it to block windows or something (you might have to double up).

excellent packaging-fast shipping

the product arrived quickly and was well packaged. I opened one up and tested it. I am 6' tall and 290 lbs. It covered me completely. I got hot very quickly. It works. Because of its material, it might be difficult for someone my size to keep it on in a windy situation, but Im sure I could figure out a way. A small framed person could probably roll themselves up in it.

I ordered this product, gave one to my mom, and put the other on my keychain. It's not in the way and it fits just right on my set of keys. I have such a great feeling of security when I'm out walking the dogs and my infant. You just never know if you might just run into an unhappy animal and I wanted to be prepared. I also work at a bank and I am comforted knowing I have it near me at all times. I fortunately have not had to use it yet so I cannot review the use of it.
