Great Classic Shoe

I was looking for a good tennis shoe. I thought I would search on classic tennis shoes and found these. I used to use these tennis shoes in the 80's when I played HS tennis and liked them, so I ordered a pair. When they arrived, it was like a reunion of old friends. They felt great and very comfortable out of the box. They fit surprising well because of my wide feet. They had no (or very little) breakin. They were great on the court (hard court). After a couple of months of use, the only ding (and reason for 3 stars) is that soles haven't lasted as long as I hoped. The toe drag area has pretty much worn complete through.

Nice Hacky Sack Shoe

This shoe has been around for so long and it is still one of the best shoes on the universe not only that but its amazing for hacky sack once u lace it right and it opens the to area great. But all around best shoe ever!!!!!

Comfort and fit

The Rod Laver is a good fit in length heel and toe. The problem I am having with flat feet is the inner arch build in shoe. The use of a pad sofar is cardboard. This smoothes out the fit and comfort. The other thing to be sure of is the heel arc on rear soles. The angle may be more than I need for left outer heels plant first and hardest on walking. Once this is determined I can be sure of how well this shoe is going to turn out. It looks good is uneventful in control and plant nice style. The simpler construction over the New Balance and classic looks are welcome. Watch the inner arch pad if you are flat footed as I am. Will in my case need to smooth out the inner arch to my foot contures.

fantastic pair of "old School" shoes

this is about the 6-7th pair of these i have bought. i still have the pair from a couple of years back! these look great, and im always getting complements/questions about them.

all in all, just a great pair of sneakers. these are what i wore in high school, and theyre still cool today. ask any younger generation, and they will tell you the same!

Comfy, not long lasting....

The shoes were great and very comfortable. Good on the court and amazing for everyday use. But after only a few months of use the part of the shoe that should be covering my left toe is completely exposed. These aren't the most durable pair of shoes you could get....

Kid balls, set of 12

these balls were perfect for my dog. I wanted orange balls as regular tennis balls get lost in the grass. Plus they have a nice bounce.

Great Tennis Balls for Kids.

These low compression balls are ideal for training, playing and teaching kids. This product changes the game of playing tennis with kids. My kids love them.

Pro Kadima, the orginal beach paddle with ball. 2 wooden paddles and one ball. This is the classic beach game. Like tennis in the sand. A Beach favorite. Paddles measure 16" in length.Note: Product may also be shipped in natural wood, or neon purple/green, or neon blue/orange combination.

Customer Review :

Don't get them wet.

Love this game, and this version of the product. But, I got the paddles wet at the beach and they disintegrated. Sort of difficult when you are at the beach not to get them wet. Apparently made for the desert.

Good for beginners or high altitude!

Great for a bucket of balls to hit to beginners. A bit heavy for normal play or topspin...may make you want to hit too flat if you practice with these because they are so heavy! But great for training the little ones to learn to play tennis.

Best Pressureless Balls

I have used Gamma, Tretorn and Penn pressureless balls and these are the best of the bunch - by a mile. Pressureless balls are firmer than regular balls on off-center and frame shots, but these are not at all objectionable to me and my kids. I have used Penn pressureless balls for instruction, ball machines, and in practice games, including at high altitude. They work great for all purposes. In fact, Penn has perfected pressureless balls to a level where they should price and market them as the primary ball for recreational (non-tournament) play. It pains me to see occassional players hit pressureized balls for an hour, putting very litte wear on the balls, playing them again in a deader form in the future, and ultimately discarding them when pressureless balls would still be perfectly playable. Such a waste of money, resources, and practice time. The fuzz on the Penn pressureless balls (and the other brands) holds up very well. My one gripe is that the lid on the Penn 48-ball bucket is a terrible design. Granted most people will put them in a hopper, but why go to the manufacturing expense of making a bucket and then not put a lid on it that: 1) opens without a crowbar; 2) stays open when you are using it; and, 3) secures down when you close it. So easy to improve, it seems like basic laziness on the part of the design team. In comparing Penn pressureless with Gamma and Tretorn, my experience is that Gamma balls bounce like they are "out-of-round" and get worse the longer they are stored on top of each other - great for improving your reflexes, but wierd to play (I ended up throwing them away while the fuzz was still good) - and Tretorns are like hitting bricks whether you hit on the sweet spot or off.

Rating :

good so far

The balls came promptly through ground shipping. The pressureless balls perform well for practice and to date there are no disappointments.

Rating :

Good for practice

I can practice my serve with these balls, even though the ball is stiffer and heavier. They last longer than the pressurlize tennis balls.

Rating :

Not happy with the quality

Very fast shipping, but I'm not happy with the quality of these balls at all. They are hard and when you hit them, it doesn't feel like hitting a typical tennis ball. Will not buy these again.

Questions & Answers
Question : Do i replace the tennis racquet grip part myself? or do i have the sports store do it for me?
Hello, the grip part of my tennis racquet has worn out and i need to replace it. my question is....do i buy a grip and replace it myself or am i supposed to have the store do it for me?This is my first time replacing it so i dont know.....if im doing it myself, do i take the old grip off first? because it seems it would be very hard to do so.I know that for the racquet to be restrung the store needs to do it.......thanks for your answers!

Answer:
You can do it but first remove the old grip.. You will most likely have some extra grip left at the end but all you have to do is cut it. The shop will only do it if you ask them when you buy the new grip AND have your racquet restrung. The old grip (and most new grips) have a very sticky backing. Sometimes you will have to remove the bottom cap (if it is stapled in). Just pull it off as it unwinds. If it tears or doesn't come off clean then you may have to use a tool (such as a spatula or something flat) to remove the rest. They also sell overgrips. These are thinner grips without the cushioning that full grips have and they just wrap over the old grip. They don't usually last as long but they are cheaper and you get more in a roll, and they don't have adhesive backings. You have to wrap it tight. I've used them before and they are ok for an emergency quick fix.

Question : Do you play any other Tennis/racquet related sports?
Table tennis? Badminton? Squash? :D Just curious?or focused solely on Tennis?

Answer:
Well I have dabbled in squash but found it to throw my tennis strokes off. Racquetball didn't appeal to me. Badminton was too wristy as well and an acquired taste that I hadn't acquired. I did play table tennis/ ping pong and did enjoy it. In fact I would incorporate topspin from tennis on my shots which made for some fun spins. But my main focus has always been on tennis in the racquet sports category. It requires you to be committed to training and skill development if you want to excel to a competitive level which I did.

I'm buying a Babolat Aeropro Drive Cortex Racquet from holabirdsports.com, but I want to know if it will come with a case. Please answer, thank you.

Question : How long will my tennis racquet and bag take to get to my house from Millet Sports?
Im curious plese help.

Answer:
It'll take them quite a while to get there on their own. I suggest providing some form of motorized transport to get them there quicker.Seriously though, shipping from anywhere often takes about a week or so. Though some sites will have guaranteed 3-day shipping on some stuff. Just look around through the site for shipping information. And you can always pay lots of extra money to get it there sooner.

Answer:
Tennis, squash, badminton all have high velocity.

Question : I need to get a gift for my brother, who loves racquet sports and running. What should I get him for birthday?
I need to get a gift for my brother, who loves racquet sports and running. What should I get him for birthday?

Answer:
I'd be wary of buying him any kind of racquet, because it's important that he tests out a piece of equipment like that before he makes a decision. I know that I wouldn't be very excited to get a racquet from someone because I need to feel like one "fits" me, and I think you need to start that player-racquet relationship one-on-one. The same holds true, really, for shoes. The only exception I'd make is if he already told you exactly what he wants, but make sure you take into consideration how he might want a racquet strung (ie. tight or loose). You're much safer buying supplies (eg. balls) than the equipment.A gift card for a place that sells either of these items would work. Or, you could personalize it by offering to take him out and purchase the racquet/shoes of his choice. That would also allow him a chance to get accessories, while allowing him to develop immediately that connection with a given racquet.

Question : Which racquet sport is most physically demanding?
Badminton, Tennis, Squash, Table Tennis (Big four)or some other racquet sport?please also answer why.It would be extremely helpful if you have experience playing all four of the sports i mentioned and not just one of them.

Answer:
It depends on what you are looking at in terms of physically demanding.Badminton requires more running than Tennis, contrary to what most people think:"The Wimbledon final lasted 198 minutes, the badminton final 76 minutes. The actual amount of time the ball or shuttlecock were in play were 18 minutes and 37 minutes respectively. Breaking it down further to the number of shots played (1 004 to 1 972) and assuming 22 feet traveled per shot per player we find that the tennis player covered about 2 miles, and the badminton player 4 miles. So the badminton player ran TWICE as far in under half the time. "But tennis is physically demanding in the upper body more than badminton. You're using your entire arm for every single shot, not to mention you're striking a heavier target with a heavier racket.Squash doesn't require too much physical activity as much as it requires a lot of strategy and skill in returning a shot.Table Tennis is also less physical than Tennis and Badminton. But I just am in awe at the good people playing it. The actual playing area is like the size of a badminton court, only the court itself is a small table. You see people running back like 10 feet from the table in preparation for a smash. It's short quick movements in a small area.I'd have to go with either Tennis or Badminton. Both are about the same in terms of physically demanding, just in different areas. Tennis has more strength than Badminton while Badminton has more endurance and running (our coach once had a friend who ran 10 miles every single day...yet after 11 points in badminton, he was really tired out). Also, Tennis is mostly played outdoors while Badminton is indoors...It just depends on who you are. I'm not strong at all, so Tennis is difficult for me, but probably not difficult for other people (in terms of strength).
