You get what you pay for.
Is this a mil-spec compass? No. Would I depend on it with my life? No. Is it inaccurate compared to a 50+$ compass? Yes.
Bottom line: If you are going to be making long treks through the wilderness, then by all means, spend 50+$ dollars on a compass; I agree with you, its worth it. However, if you are a novice outdoors man who wants a cheap compass that will point north with REASONABLE accuracy, then this is for you. Frankly, for 7.00$ and change, its hard to argue.

Really good despite some reviews
I've had little worries about quality of this compass, while reading some reviews. But it came to me in a good quality, with a comfortable soft pouch and it really works well. Yes, there's not much luminance on the arrows but that doesn't affect it's qualities for directioning. And the body is real metal, not plastic.

GREAT STOCKING STUFFER!!!!
"Santa" left this for my husband in his stocking and my husband really likes it. He uses it for hunting and just "in general." This is a great product for the "out-doorsy" kind of guy and has the potential for being extremely valuable in an emergency.

Nice reliable compass
Well worth the money when the stakes are high. We sometimes go boating and can get caught in the fog or darkness. This compass has steared us safely home more than once.

Points NORTHish
Cheap Compass, but not good value.
Pros Points North Usable (but just barely)
Cons The one I have received is not liquid filled. The needle takes a really long time to settle The compass needle is not luminescent. The needle gets "hung up" even when it is on a level hard surface.
Summary There are better compasses for the money. Try the Brunton lensatic compass. This one is not great.

Dissappointed
It worked when I first installed it; but as soon as I started riding, it stopped. I changed the batteries, but no joy. Sent it back.

Planet Bike Protege 9.0
Using on my mountain bike. No issues with cell phone interference or loss of transmitter sensor signal. Some difficulty in mounting the sensor close enough to get the signal from the magnet without hitting the spokes. I'm sure I will get it adjusted fine. Went on 24 mile ride on ex-railroad trail in Idaho and local wilderness trails in Richland, WA. Works great, glad I got this unit. Thermometer is inaccurate, but no big deal. Easy to read even with 56 year old eyes. I like this unit better than my wired computer on my road bike.
Rating :
Most Readable Wireless Bike Computer
First of all the Planet Bike Protege 9.0 Wireless 9-Function bike computer is by far the easiest to read and to use thanks to its' large screen. Secondly it is by far the most reasonbly priced unit on the market!

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The engineering group who design this product should be ashamed of themselves.
It did not work out of the box, the instruction completely useless (starts the fireplace though), It's a complete hit and miss. Just look at the distribution of reviews. Either 5 or 1. It's a Russian roulette.
If you don't know what do with your money, buy this product. You may have luck with it.

What Screen
After purchasing, read some reviews. Most all said it was hard to see the screen. Guess what, you can't see the screen

Super Caddy
Works great on distance to flag, but more importantly distance to sand traps, water trouble ect.No charges for updates off sets higher $$$$.Hole layout is a time saver, you know your on a new course and can't tell if it's a dog leg right or left this makes each hole very clear to the flag. Every course I play from Maryland to Myrtle Beach are preloaded and you can review them and see their score cards. Use's battery's VS charger.Carry a couple extra AA's in your bag just in case. Keeps score and other round info, you can download on your computer. only negative I see so far is screen lock feature is a little tricky and you can turn it off in error but it has the infomormation stored when you get it back on. I give it 5*****'s. If this Garmin G-5 could only putt, I would be on the tour !!!!!

Garmin SG5
I have read all the comparisons on this product and it surprises me the different opinions. I did purchase the product but was very disappointed in its performance. It wasn't because of the touch screen, color or the resolution; it was because it doesn't automatically tell you how far you are to the green. After you hit your drive, the unit places a ball between the Tee and the green. You have to touch the screen to get the distance. If you don't touch the screen on the ball, you get a distance from where you touched the screen and the green. It also gives you a reading to somewhere on the green I suspect it is the middle but that was never proven. It also didn't display the information about the green very well. Most of us want to know how far it is to the green, front, middle or back, the rest is nice but I consider it fluff.
I returned my unit after using it for one round and purchased the Sky Caddie. When the return was processed we received the purchase price minus the shipping cost and a 15% restocking fee from the sub vendor.
Not happy

Garmin G5
The G5 is easy to use. You will need to register the unit before use. This allows any updates to be performed as well. Battery life has been good with four rounds on the same set of batteries. I would like to see a brightness adjustment as a feature. The unit is a little hard to read in direct sunlight. Yardage is accurate; pin adjustments are easy using your daily pin sheet or eyeballing the locations. Overall I would recommend the unit. Rugged, waterproof and accurate.

Android app for 5 dollars
Just for the record I do not own this GPS golf device. However I do own an Android phone. I can't see buying a $300 dollar unit to do something that an app on a Android, Iphone, or blackberry can do. There are so many apps to choose from with no annual fee. Heck, some are even free! They track drives, tell you how far traps and hazards are. So my suggestion is for the many of you that have a smartphone, save the money and go to the app market. I read that you have to pay a yearly fee for this and download each course before you go! Also for at least me, I would forget this GPS everytime I went golfing because its too expensive to just throw in my golf bag, whereas my cell phone I always have it on me. So again i apologize for not owning this piece but I did want to inform about an awesome alternative option.

Editorial Review :
Your legs are your engine, and the Strada Cadence is your tachometer. This sleek Cat Eye cycle computer delivers the essential functions of the Strada plus pedal cadence. New flex
Customer Review :
Great for cadence, but better keep it on tight!
I agree with the people who say that the refresh rate is a bit lacking on this computer. It misses some revolutions on the wheels so if you're looking for an accurate odometer, this isn't it.
The main problem that I have is losing the computer fairly easily. It fell off my bike a few times after hitting potholes. At other times, the contact with the mount gets iffy or lost if you're going over small bumps. Cateye's warranty is awesome though. I finally lost my computer on a century and they sent me a replacement one within 2 days. I've clamped the new one on and it hasn't fallen off yet. Clamping the computer on has helped avoid it from falling off, and it has also been able to keep pretty good contact.
Anyways, great entry level computer and the main selling point is the cadence. For $30, you can't go wrong. The next step up is the cateye double wireless w/ cadence and that's around $110-120...so yeah.
Suggestion for cadence magnet...the sticky pad on the cadence magnet piece is JUNK. I've managed to have the magnet magnetically stick on the inside of my left pedal and it gets very close to the sensor each time it passes so I get all cadence readings. I haven't lost the magnet yet and it seems to be the most reliable way to keep it on.

Fantastic
This is another great bike computer from cateye. I also own a cateye enduro 8. This bike computer has a lot of great features. The mount for this is great, it fits just about any handle bar perfectly and snuggly as it has a screw like zipper design. Another great feature is how it switches between the information by simply pressing down on the unit. It seems quite accurate as well. Its a great bike computer, if you need/want cadence get it!

Great product!
I highly recommend this computer, it installed easily and works great with no problems after almost 200 miles. Numbers are easy to read. Some people complain about not being able to see the time and cadence information as it is listed below and in smaller font than the speed but I have no issues, they are plenty big for my tastes.

Cateye Strata Cadence
I bought this computer for a new road bike I just received. The install was relatively simple with no hitches. It appears to be well designed and laid out. I would prefer the display to be slightly larger for ease of reading. The only reason I'm not rating this computer higher is I've only used it a few times and haven't had time to use it much. In general I'm very pleased with both the price I paid and how it's functioned so far.

Strada Cadence
I love this bike computer. Easy to install, works great and very affordable. The mode is difficult to read but I soon figured out each setting by the number displayed. I love having the cadence.

Polar FlowLink is an accessory used to transfer data between a Polar product and polarpersonaltrainer.com. It's easy to transfer data between the training computer and polarpersonaltrainer.com. Simply connect it to a PC with its USB connection.

Problems to make it work
All, unfortunately since I bought I'm facing Sync problems with my Polar and after many mails exchanges with Polar Tech Support I'll need to walk a tech support place to try to solve it.

Cool gadget... Crappy web site
I recently bought the Polar FT40 heart rate monitor/watch. I wanted to keep track of my workouts at the Polar Personal Trainer web site. The Polar Flowlink is a nifty gadget. It's very easy to use and loads up all the data information from the watch very quickly. I don't have any problem with this product, but I do have an issue with the Polar Personal Trainer website. In fact, I am very disappointed. It's not as user-friendly as I had hoped, and that's saying a lot coming from someone who is internet/computer-savvy. The Diary section is all I use right now. The calendar shows the dates the European way, meaning that it will display the date as "day.month" (for example, 06.05 for May 6th). That can throw people off for those of us in the western hemisphere, as it is very easy to mistake 06.05 for June 5th, and not May 6th. Whoever designed the personal trainer program for the Polar site must live in Europe, and made things much too complicated than they need to be. The display of the workout summaries is a joke because it's confusing, and there are dates all over the place, which you have to figure out each time because they show it as "day.month.year." It's very annoying.
In summary, I really like the Flowlink, but I hate the Personal Trainer web site. For the type of workout routine that I follow, my excel spreadsheet does the job better than the Personal Trainer web site could ever do, and I don't need to use a calendar.
Rating :
It works
I have the Polar FT60 and bought the Flowlink so I could download and review my heart rate data from workouts. However, I was disappointed to discover that the FT60 only saves summaries of workouts (ie, X hrs in Zone 1, Y hours in Zone 2, etc.). I didn't find that information too useful for post-workout analysis... I would rather be able to see my heart rate over the duration of a workout. This is more a shortcoming of the FT60 though.
The Flowlink works great and as described. Just set your watch on it and a few seconds later, your workout is on your computer. Pretty straightforward and simple. Just make sure your watch logs the data you want before spending the money on the Flowlink!

Piece of crap
I was very disappointed. I should have paid more attention to the reviews here that suggested that to be the case. I thought I was being prudent by contacting Polar to ask if they had worked out the Apple problems mentioned in other comments. They said yes, so I ordered. The thing wouldn't work. I had downloaded the software properly and my hardware meets the stated requirements. Yet, nothing. This item comes with no instructions and what you find online does not help if it doesn't work. I love my Polar watch and hoped to use this to transfer my data to my computer, but I'll just do it the old fashioned way---with pen and paper or I'll key the results in to an Excel file.
Hate is a strong word, wasted on this, but it definitely deserves one star.
Buy this with caution.
