Question : I am thinking of getting a herbst appliance?
I am 18 years old and I have an overbite, but from teeth aren't noticeable when my mouth is closed and my lower jaw is pushed back. So I want to get this appliance to help jaw growth. Is this product effective for someone who is 18 years old? And also can braces be worn at the same time with this device? Does this appliance have any effects on teeth? Thanks..
Answer:
i have a herbst appliance right now and it covers some of ur back teeth on the bottom but i have braces on my first four front teeth and you could definitely have them on the top cuz they can make is especially for the wire to be connected to it, i believei have an overbite too, and my jaw is pushed back so my ortho gave me a herbst appliance for a yearand it rlly not that bad. the first day was awful, getting it put on, and then ur mouth will hurt alot and u will get sores from these two things in the front but then u will get used to it, even tho it will make ur face look a little awkward

Question : how to stop braces from scratching?
I just got braces yesterday, the pain from the braces themselves I can deal with, but I can't stand the braces scratching at the back of my mouth causing huge ulcers, etc. The Orthodontist gave me wax to put on my teeth, but in one day I've used a container already because I feel I need to cover all my teeth. I didn't use it at night to save the wax, but I woke up with 3 huge ulcers and a lot of pain. Is there anything else I can do to stop my annoying braces from scratching me? Any products? If there is please let me know! Keep in mind that I live in Australia though.
Answer:
I had braces as did my daughter and to be honest, until your mouth adjusts to the braces and develops calluses, the wax is your best friend. You might want to contact the orthodontist and ask for more. One thing you might try that could help is something like OraJel (don't know if they have it in Australia but it's a jel we buy at the drugstore that you put on sores and toothaches in your mouth). That could help. Other than that...your mouth has to develop calluses and then it will stop developing ulcers. Braces are literally a pain, but the end result is great.

Question : which posture support device should i use?
http://www.badbacks.com.au/shop/product/137/131/bad-backs-essential-shoulder-braceorhttp://www.badba cks.com.au/shop/product/135/131/otto-bock-posture-supportexplain why
Answer:
on the first website there is one in the middle that doesn't go across the shoulder. I personally would suggest the type of brace on this website. The reason is because then oyu don't have to worry about it being uncomfortable on the under arms and such.

Question : Whitening teeth after braces?
I just got my braces off a few months ago, and I have been finding it very hard to whiten my teeth. I also have to be careful because anyone with braces off knows theres a wire glued at the back of your teeth once braces are off, and the bleach in teeth whitening products can lift the glue which is very bad! So what is a good way I can whiten my teeth?

Question : what is the best way to whiten my teeth?
i get my braces off tuesday and my teeth look sort of dull and not bright after having my braces on for 3 years and i go back to school the following monday so i need something that works really fast and i would rather not use the strips so what are the best brands of whitening toothpaste or are there other products that whiten better than toothpaste?thanks! and happy new year :)
Answer:
No one's teeth are naturally white. They are different shads of white so can never really get 100% white teeth. But there are products which can help you remove stains and give your teeth cleaner look. The best way is to go to a dentist and pay for a teeth whitening treatment. But that is generally reserved for people who have badly stained teeth or people who have had their braces recently removed. for an average person, there are several solutions available in the market. the most popular are whitening strips. they are popular because they are the easiest to apply. but they may not be the most effective. i tried out strips but they didn't work for me because they kept coming off.i resorted to using baking soda and bleach but it was too painful. the best solution i have come across are the teeth whitening tips. Its the closest thing to what the dentist use. its a powder you apply on your teeth using tips, which removes stains and such. i used it for a week with good resultsi saw the add on CNN. here's a link to the sitehttp://www.teethwhiten.com/splash.php?aid=155535

Question : Why are building frames continuous, but not the frame reinforcing?
When I worked in Construction, we ran continuous horizontal reinforcing bars continuously in continuous foundations and footings, tie-ing the re-bar together at each change of direction and overlap, but as the building or structure went above ground or to non-concrete materials, all of the frame reinforcing changed to non-continuous, isolated location reinforcing materials and products. Rigid and isolated location anchor bolts, post bases and seismic straps, and vertical tension rods replaced the continuously tied re-bar, and the following:When I placed and attached a plywood shear-wall, for example, on the exterior or interior side of a wall/floor/roof, the plywood did not wrap around the corners of the building/structure frame. I even had one guy try to convince me that corrugated metal sheathing adds flexure to a wall-frame, until I showed him that even corrugated sheathing acts as a stiffener, once the perimeter and in-fill nails/screws are applied in two perpendicular panel directions to a rigid materialed frame!!When I placed and attached the floor and roof cross-framing, the reinforcing products just placed and attached at the individual cross-framing locations. After I rough-framed the floor/roof cross-framing to the wall tops, I had to go back to the same high-work locations and add twist-ties, blocking between each cross-framing piece, wind braces, mid-floor/ceiling joist span bridge-blocking, diagonal let-in or strap bracing at the corners, and 2'-5' straps vertically between floors, none of which add continuous reinforcing to the frame. All of these added reinforcing products and materials only added continuity to the frame network, not the reinforcing network/system.I also found that all of these isolated reinforcing materials and products do not add flexure and elasticity to the frame, only stiffen and brace the frame and wall/sides components, but not at any change of directions or overlapping locations. I have worked on wood and steel open-frame buildings, masonry block and brick buildings, log buildings, pre-fabs and composite-wall buildings, solid concrete tilt-up buildings, heavy steel buildings, and timberframes, and haven't found any of these types of buildings using or benefitting from continuous reinforcing throughout the frames, except for continuous foundations and footings, and am wondering why the added benefits of safer construction assembling, reduced costs of reinforcing, added flexure and elasticity, and extra tensile strengths provided by continuous reinforcing systems are not being used in buildings and structures.antacid;Continuous structure frame reinforcing saves the Builders, Consumers, etc; money on two fronts, short-term and long-term:A) Continuous structure frame reinforcing uses less reinforcing materials and fewer fasteners to install than all the reinforcing materials and products described above, saving the Building Contractor and Subcontractors money during the construction of building frames; and...Which is more expensive, a house totalled by a tornado, or a house partially damaged by the same tornado?

Question : Should I wear my back brace at night?
I recently did a lot of research on why my ribs stick out. I came to the conclusion that I have a condition known as "swayback" and my ribs stick out in result to that. I have had the back brace for a few days and I am not able to get a lot of sleep while in it. Should I be wearing it to bed or should I just wear it all the time during the day. I don't mind losing a little sleep over the back brace, as long as it is helping my ribs. The back brace I purchased is below in the source section. I am wearing the back brace all the time so I can fix my posture as quick as possible. Please let me know what to do.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WFY4FU/ref=s9_simz_gw_s1_p121_t1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd _s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1AZVV36M7WD779HCWP13&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
