Questions & Answers
Question : how important is it to have wrist tape?
last practice I did not use wrist supports or tape, or knee or elbow pads and my wrists are cracking today and knees.

Answer:
From what I hear alot people end up breaking there hands sometimes when they don't have the tape. I don't know why but yea. Anyway If your knees and wrist are cracking it had to do some damage to your body. So I say it's important so you don't have to suffer when you get into old age.

Question : tiger paws wrist supports?
if i got a pair of tiger paw wrist supports (i have a pair of beige ones that need to be replaced) do you think the judge would dislike me if i got a pair of pink ones this time when my school colors are green and white...http://www.elitegymnastics.com/tigerpaws.htmlwell like not to you.. like to a judge of gymnastics unless you are an officail judgebecuz i cant afford to loose points in gymnastics im gonna make it to state one of these days :)

Answer:
I had red ones during high school, but my school colors were red and white. I'm pretty sure they can't take off for colored tiger paws. I'd say go for it, but maybe ask your coach to be sure!

Question : Hi, I just bought some wrist supports for snowboarding. Does the metal support strip go on top or bottom...?
of wrist. the top makes a lot more sense to me but it just doesn't feel quite right.

Answer:
if its a curved (usually plastic) metal strip it goes on the palm of your hand, not really too sure how it works but thats how it goes. the wrist guards should really only fit on one hand or the other comfortably, that is, the left should only fit on the left and the right on the right, because of the thumb positioning.

Question : How tight wrist support should be?
I wear a wrist support while doing my weight training sessions, today, when I took off the wrist support, I noticed that the veins are very dark. Not like the veins in my right hand, after 10 minutes it started to get back to its ordinary color.Should I be concerned? I must use wrist support because I have a very weak wrist, I can't stop weight training sessions because it's helping with other injuries I have. Thanks for help

Answer:
Your wrist support should only Support your wrist, not cut off your blood circulation, heheWhen you put it around your wrist it should feel Firm, not tight. Firm enough to support. You can check, before you start with the weights, if the veins are restricted after a few seconds. If you see a swelling of the veins on your hand, loosen the strap."-"

Question : gymnastics wrist supports or tape?
I recently joined a gymnastics team and I am having a lot of pain in my wrists (I have carpal tunnel). I am not a serious gymnast but I do practice at least twice a week. Would it be better for me to buy supports like tiger paws or golden hands, or just to tape up my wrists?

Answer:
id say both try tape up youre wrist first if that doesnt work by suports

Question : What does a wrist support do? Would it work for my story?
I am a cheerleader and whenever I do a backhand spring on wood floor I hurt my arm and get bruises on my palms. Would a wrist support make that not happen for me?

Answer:
Go to your coach or gym teacher and ask them for advice. It could easily break from constant strain, the wrong support could also do more harm than good. Be pro-active

Question : Is it better to use a glove or a wrist support for bowling?
Which is better to use for bowling: a glove or a wrist support? I am trying to decide which one is better to get started in the sport?

Answer:
Post this in the "Equipment" section of the PBA.com message boards for some really insightful answers by actual bowlers.Personally, I use neither. I find that I have more freedom to manipulate my hand to release the ball however I want to release it.However, I'm far from a professional bowler. That said, I don't see many great bowlers using wrist supports or gloves. I know that Mike Scroggins uses a large wrist support, and I know that Pete Weber uses a glove. Other than them, I honestly can't think of anyone else off the top of my head.Again, post this at PBA.com to see what they say on there. I'm curious now.

Question : Are wrist supports good to use for gymnastics?
My friend told me that they shouldn't be used at practice, or rarely. So, should I get some or not? They make me give out less. I've borrowed some before to see what they're like and i like them. But is it a good thing to invest in?

Answer:
My friend's sister wears wrist supports as she finds it gives her wrists added strength and support and helps her out when she's training.Good luck anyways !

Question : Which bowling wrist support should I buy?
I know I want a Storm bowling wrist support but I'm not sure which I should buy, either the Gadget or the Gadget XF. It seems the only difference is that the XF has a long section that goes over your index finger. Is there an advantage to this? I tried a Mongoose wrist support and it was real nice, but I think the Storm Gadget line might be better for me. Any suggestions on which I should get? Thanks!
