Can't insert battery

The screw for the battery compartment does not seem to be an isolated problem. The screw for the battery cover is an extremely small Phillips head. There is a flat piece of metal provided with a tab on each end. This supposed to be the screwdriver. Ordinarily this might work. But in this case the tab is too long to fit in the cross-slot. Therefore the screw cannot be removed so the battery can be inserted. I have jewelers screwdrivers but doubt they would work because the cross-slots are so small they appear nearly round. Makes it difficult to screw in or out.
It's a shame because the product looks and feels good. But with no battery it is no better than a paper weight, in fact not that good. It's not heavy enough to hold paper down.
There are MANY other ways to secure a battery compartment. Too bad they didn't choose one of them. I have sent this thing back to Amazon. Don't waste your time or money on this product.

Reset Button Removed

Although they haven't changed the model number it appears the device currently shipping no longer has a reset button on the front. That button would reset the device to zero for today, like if you wanted to measure a particular hike.

If you look at the product picture that Amazon has, that is a correct representation. However, if you look at the user pictures, or google for a manual you see that previously the product had four buttons on the front, one of which was that reset button.

I'm guessing some people were pressing that button by mistake and losing part of their day's activities so Omron decided to remove it. That's fine, except now if you want to reset the display to zero you have to stick a pin in the reset hole on the back, and then enter all your data again...time, stride length, weight.

Does this matter. To me it's a pain in the neck, but to most of the people who use the device it may be just fine since what they really want is to measure their total activity for each day, not a particular walk.

(Of course for a single walk, you just look at the display before you leave and subtract that reading when you are done.)

Seems like Omron could have designed a different reset button that was harder to press by accident instead of eliminating it entirely.

Whatever, it's not a huge deal, I just thought people should be aware of this.

Aside from that the device seems fine, and that is covered by lots of other reviews, so I won't repeat them. I just gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of my own needs. I also think they should have changed the model number when they removed that button.

nice, but doesn't count aerobic steps well

I purchased this pedometer in July! It's really easy to use and very lightweight. I like it a lot, but have noted it will fall off your belt if you don't make sure it's on there very tightly. Also, it doesn't count all your aerobic steps, yesterday it didn't count them for the first 3000 steps. But I still like it!

Great accuracy - display defective - costly & hassle to return

I purchased two of these early this summer. I found it to be easy to set up and very accurate. Within two weeks the digital readout started to malfunction leaving only a portion of the numbers legible. I paid for the return of it and another was sent to me that has worked well. The 2nd one, received as part of the original order, worked well for two months and then the same thing happened. Neither problem occurred after dropping it or other possible answers. I replaced the battery but the display continued to malfunction. When contacting the company, since it was under warranty, I was told I would need to send it back at my expense, pay another $8 for their costs and they highly recommended that I insure it as well. After realizing the cost I was incurring at this point was almost to the point of what I had paid originally - I decided to give up and try a different brand.

Very accurate!

This is my 2nd HJ-112. The previous one worked for 2 years w/absolutely no problems. I didn't even have to change the battery for at least 18 months. The only reason I needed a new one is that I dropped the old one once too many times. I'm very pleased with this pedometer and feel like it's the most accurate brand and style I've owned.

Great Durable Bottle

I've had this bottle for 2 months now and it has one tiny ding in it but otherwise looks like new. It has held up remarkable well to considering I take it everywhere, certainly much better than other bottles I've had or seen in the past. The 27 ounce is the perfect size too, a good medium-large bottle with a wide mouth which you can fit ice cubes in. Perfect for anything you might want it for. I highly recommend it.

Rating :

great water bottle

Am enjoying this water bottle. It replaced a Sigg, which dented quite easily. The violet color is great. The base is small enough to fit into holders easily (in the car, golf cart, etc.). The only thing that is "different" is that it "chirps" when you drink from it. It must come from the small air hole in the top. It drives my daughter crazy when she uses hers, but I don't mind it at all! It's fairly quiet, but it definitely "chirps" !! The 27-oz. is a good size and I don't have to keep refilling it often. Very happy with purchase.

Hate these things.

Ok, they get one star for being attractive. And one more for using safe materials.

But they are horrible beyond that. I am shocked that anyone thinks they are any good.

They let more air than water in through the nozzle, and they make a loud, bizarre whistling noise. And if you try to remove the white stopper to get better water flow they will leak water all over you.

Yes, they do fit bicycle bottle holders, but if you buy the painted ones the paint will scrape off immediately when you take them in and out of the bottle cage (unless your cage is plastic - not sure about that).

AND - the little nozzle WILL NOT STAY OPEN! If you try to drink it will slide shut when it is barely touched. If you are standing very, very still and not moving and concentrate very hard, you can kind of hold it open with your teeth or lips and try to suck the water that way. Then it will probably stay open.

But of course, you are just going to get mostly air anyway, especially when the bottle is not completely full.

Sending ours back.

They were as expected, but perspire like crazy!

I bought two 40 oz bottles with the sports cap. I use the Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle Shoulder Sling (40-Ounce Bottles) with these bottles.

Pros:
They are lightweight, even when full.
The sports caps I received with my bottles make drinking easy. (To other reviewers who say these make noises when drinking from them: these don't chirp if I hold it so the loop part is up.)
Stainless steel bottle is durable.

Cons:
Cold liquids cause the bottle to perspire. Be prepared for a damp pant leg if you carry this using the sling.
With the sports cap, if the bottle is tipped over, it leaks, even with the outer cap on.

For anyone that cares, the two bottles are slightly magnetic. Small fridge magnets do stay on the bottles when placed on there. Apparently, this is expected because of the Klean Kanteen manufacturing process.

Klean Kanteen

Just got this in the mail today. Product is light, attractive and large enough for plenty of fluid (I have the 18oz version, plenty big.) Everything seems well made and sure to last a while as it is stainless steel. I prefer the Klean Kanteen to other manufactures because of the stripped down nature of it. The stainless steel look is perfect, very utilitarian inside and out. I don't really want or need paint, designs or special caps. Just hold my water for me. I'm sure it will do that for a while.

I don't know if it works, but it's a good looking band.

Isn't that really all that matters anyway? I bought one of these back in April to improve my workouts. I really didn't notice a change but I haven't taken it off since then because I'm afraid if I do I might fall over. I wear a black one just like David Beckham. For a trendy accessory PowerBalance is worth the money. As a sports improvement device though, it's a bit overpriced.

Power Balance

I understand the criticism there is for Power Balance. Besides the balance tests I have an interesting experience with mine. I were one on my wrist and I noticed when I were it at night I am totally wired and cannot sleep. I figured out that when I slept with it I was up all night. When off I slept normal. Now I know the first time was not mental because I didn;t realize what was happeneing. Anyway, has anyone else experienced that? By this happening it makes me think something besides the balance tests are showing it works. Any thoughts?

Motivation, Motivation!

Simple as this: I use it for motivation. Do I believe it does anything? - No, but if you want a comfy bracelet that will remind you everyday you can jump higher, run faster or balance on 1 foot and looks cool at the same time I say buy it.

Rating :

the thing works

I am not a compensated person for this company.

I am a person who has had foot and back pain for a year and after ONE DAY of wearing this bracelet thinking it was only for balance help, am pain free for the first time in a year.

Placebo effect or not, the thing works for me. No amount of skeptic or "hater" or person who thinks they're smarter because they're a skeptic can say anything to change my mind because I am an adult person who knows the difference between being in pain and not being in pain.

I am not in pain. Being in pain SUCKS, we all know this. We've "tried it all" so what's the harm in trying this? Being out a few more bucks? Go buy some more Vicodin, then.

Yesterday, I was a wreck at work (on my feet for eight hours) and could hardly walk without level 7-8 pain (at 35 years old) and fell asleep the second I got home from work because I hurt so bad. Today, with the band, I an 100% pain free and can hardly believe it. I am not afraid to walk or bend or wake up in the morning now. I am not in need of medication that will tear up my stomach or kill my liver.

Is this really so wrong? To feel relief from pain? Skeptics, go take a hike.

Rating :

Fun topic for conversation

This is a great band to wear, simply for the topic of conversation. I took it apart, and I remain a skeptic as to effectiveness of the hologram.

Omron Heart Rate Monitor

Was looking for a simple heart rate monitor for use on the treadmill and this turned put to be perfect. Also time between ordering online and receiving was very fast. Highly recommend.

Rating :

Didn't Work ... Don't waste your time ... Buy a different brand

I read the enclosed product booklet that came w/ the Omron heart monitor and I followed all of the set-up instrucions, but the heart monitor just didn't do anything. It registered the time, but it never displayed anything else durring my treadmill workout. I pressed the correct button, the correct number of times and ... no change. I don't need another watch, I need a heart monitor.

Rating :

Great monitor for its price!

I just want to say that this little monitor works great. It is a good investment for its price. Granted that someone might get a lemon here and there, lemons are a problem when they're not well backed, but Amazon does a great job at backing your purchase, so don't worry. One thing to consider would be the fact that this monitor's transmission is not encoded, so you might get some interference in a very crowded gym with lots of these. Otherwise it's a very good choice for someone that wants an inexpensive(not cheap) Heart Rate Monitor that will warn them about their high and low zones. Give it a try. You'll probably stick with it.

Rating :

heart monitor worth it

I like the price for the monitor and the strap and ease of set up. it picks my heartrate up right away, had no problem with that.

i do have an issue with the buckle. i have to keep putting it back on. when i take the wrist monitor off, the metal buckle keeps popping off and i have to search for it. i will contact them regarding this to replace it. that is the ONLY issue i had with it. easy to read and program.

Rating :

Good value

This is a good product. I was surprised to see that it synced with some of the equipment in my gym. It's easy to use.

Question : How do you string a tennis racquet and is a table top Gamma Progession II 602 be fine?
Tennis is my favorite sport and I want to help out for my high school team and my local club. If I could learn to string racquets I can help out all around the tennis community. The Racket stringer I'm getting (Gamma Progession II 602) at tennis warehouse where I buy all my tennis supplies, Is only 300$ and comes with 150$ worth of accessories. It looks worth the money but since I'm having a bar-mitzvah soon I'm wondering if it'll be worth getting a more expensive one.

Answer:
Hi Ben, Gamma is an excellent choice. Top of the line quality and workmanship. As for picking one I would suggest the X ES. It is a constant pull electric which means that if you string with any string that looses tension quickly even in the initial stringing phase the constant pull will provide you with a more accurate string job than the drop weight 602 or the crank lock out 5003(pulls to desired tension then stops allowing tension loss). They are all fine machines made by Gamma but the constant pull electric has many added benefits that someone who will be stringing racquets for others would appreciate. It is more expensive but no where near the cost of some of Gamma's other machines and a good investment for a young tennis enthusiast as yourself. http://www.atssports.com/tennis.cfm?prodid=268I have answered stringer type questions on here before http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgOq6H0GwdL25RbWINj6mcPpFQx.?qid=20070720134550AAwmN GSHope I have helped and best wishes for the upcoming bar-mitzvah.

Personally, I don't think the first two are that bad- IF you are 18 or older. Breasts are fully covered, and the skirts, while short, aren't butt-baring. Plus, they don't have some kind of demeaning 'hot dish' message written all over them.I hate seeing little bitty girls wearing costumes like this. The third costume is too over the top even if you are of age. The 'hot dish' crap and 'naughty coupons' are just stupid.
