Questions & Answers
Question : i need hockey goalie equipment for a cheap price, any help?
my friends and i like to play roller hockey but none of us r goalies so i thought we could get some cheap equipment somewhere n one of us will play but i need help where i can get equipment cheap under $75 for pads, a chest protector, blocker, glove, and possibly a mask.

Answer:
There has to be an old, generous goalie in your neighbourhood, right? Ask around. Good hunting!

Question : Goalie Equipment Help?
I just bought the rest of what I think is the full set of goalie equipment.I just need to know if I need anything else...Goalie MaskPadsBlockerTrapperChest ProtectorGoalie Pants(im going to use regular skates until I can get goalie skates)Goalie Jockis there anything else I need? thanks.

Answer:
Knee protectors. Yeah, your pants/pads might have some, but if yours don't or don't protect that large area right above your knee when you go down into a full/half butterfly, get some. I was out for 2wks with a muscle contusion after I got hit with a puck there. Granted, it was a bad save, but some knee protectors would have helped a lot.Also...Something to wear under your pads. Like pants, so that your bare legs aren't showing I don't personally wear socks, and I know most goaltenders don't either. UnderArmour is nice. And you might already know this, but it's sometimes overlooked. Depending on what kind of leg pads you have, you might want to get laces as well. You might have those toe straps that are leather and go between your skates or those flimsy strings that tie around your skates. Those flimsy strings are going to break...fast. Which is why I recommend just grabbing a pair of skate laces to replace them with. Periodically, of course...because mine wear down over time.

Question : I need some help...?
One day, I went to the thrift store to buy some hockey goalie equipment(the thrift store is a good place to buy hockey equipment when you only have 10 dollars). I saw this blocker glove(for goalies), and I don't know what it's called, but I think it's called a Bauer Street Reactor. My question is: where can I find other Bauer Street Reactor goalie pads, and if that's not the correct name, please tell me the right name.Thank you, thegamerdug. I checked that website. The equipment that I'm looking for was discontinued. Now I need to know where I can find it...

Answer:
you could find the blocker glove at the store you saw it at or any sports store

Question : Street Hockey Goalie Equipments
I was wondering, what are some basic or advanced equipments a ball hockey goalie should need? Inline and Street. So far I have/use are:-Goal Pads-Goal Helmet (Has a throat guard)-Catcher/Glove/Trapper (different names of the glove)-Blocker-Chest Protector-Cup-Volleyball Knee Pads (sometimes my knee hits the ground instead of being cushioned in the pad, a solution to always having my knee in the pad would be nice also :D)-Elbow Pads (I hate landing on my elbows sometimes, or even having my elbows rub the ground cause it hurts sometimes)-Hockey Practice JerseyWhat else would I need that won't affect my game play, but not cost a whole bag of cash to purchase? Is having this on good enough? And a goalie stick x.x forgot to add that.Black Ice Gothic 32" Goalie PadsI'm not rich :/ I'm only 16 lol. I can't afford no awesome ice hockey goalie chest protectors x.x, plus no one slapshots hard enough to inflict enough pain to force me to go into T.O or out of the game. As stupid as it is to be barely protected, and absorb pain lol. But money is an issue :/

Answer:
you might want skates. ive found that not using skates makes it harder to drop.

Question : Price of goaltending equipment?
Alright, so come summer time, I plan to work my butt off and buy a set of goalie equipment for ice hockey. This is what I would need:HelmetGloveBlockerPadsStickGoalie pantsBody padsJockGoalie skatesNeck guardShin padsAny other protective goalie equipment for ice hockey i may be forgettingIf any current/former ice hockey goalies or anyone who know about this stuff could tell me how much money in total they spent on their equipment, that'd be all I need, thanks!

Answer:
Mask (helmet): $150-$300 and upCatch: $150-$250Blocker: $100-$200Sticks: $70-$140 ea (have at least 2-3, unfortunately they can and do break)Pants: $140-$300Leg Pads: $500-$1500Chest/Arm protector: $150-$300Jock: $$50-100Skates: $150-$400Neck Guard/Collar: $20-$40Other items:Tape- white tape for the knob of your stick, and (depending on your preference) either white or black tape for the blade. Water bottle- I prefer the tall/skinny kind rather than the hand grenade size (easier to hold) that you can squeeze so no hard plastic. The Gatorade bottles the NHL goalies all use work great (they cost $2.00).You'll also need an equipment bag- trust me- get one with wheels (I have a Vaughn bag that ran about $100 that holds everything). Get the biggest size they make; it'll hold everything and make going from car to rink that much easier.A few things I'd have in my bag at all times:-extra pair of laces (either for skates or for tie-downs for your leg pads)-screwdriver-chamois cloth to wipe blades down-extra practice jersey-If your mask comes with two sweatbands, put the other sweatband in a ziploc bagOne other tip- get a wet bag to put all your wet stuff in (jock, socks, undershirt, skullcap/headhand/doo-rag, jersey); makes it easy for laundry purposes and reduces likelihood of My numbers are ranges depending on style, brand, and if you go high-end or low end. A couple good websites for goalie equipment:www.donsimmons.com (they ONLY do goalie equipment, and have a fantastic bulletin board- they have both their own brand as well as other brands)www.goaliemonkey.com (good for closeouts)Good luck!

Question : goalie equipment help?
i want to be a goalie. but before i do join a team and buy all the good gear i want to get some gear to start of with. so like cheap pads catcher blocker helmat and cheast protector. like the schools buy. so would the TpS Street Hockey Goalie Kit be good enoufe quality to use. im dont whant cheep stuff. help

Answer:
If you haven't played goalie before, it's going to take awhile for ANY team to let you be their goalie. TPS Street Hockey: haven't seen it but if it's labeled street hockey that means plastic with foam (goalies like me who have had to use Mylec for ball / road hockey can relate to this) that is for use with a soft hockey ball, not a puck, inline or ice - not only is the protection insufficient but it's not the intended use. Would one use snow tires while driving in the desert? Wear a toque / beanie when it's over 100 farenheit?

Question : Goalie Equipment RBK vs Vaughn?
I am an aspiring young goalie and I am looking at buting a new pair of goalie pads, catcher and blocker. The two main choices i have are rbk premier 2pro or vaughn vellocity 3. You can tell me if I should get like rbk catcher and the rest rbk or whatever and dont just say go with the pads that feel the best i want to know ur opinion. O ya I'm a butterfly goalie

Answer:
I agree. However, when you do go in to try on their pads, make sure to tell them that you are predominantly a butterfly style goalie. Each of those brands should have models that compliment specifically the butterfly.

Question : Help on RBK 6k p2 goalie equipment (Hockey)?
I found some 6k turco break sr leg pads for $200 on thehockeyshop.com. What size should i be? (Im 5'8 and need space to grow in. I think im a 34+1). Im only playing one day a week i think. Are the catcher ($100), blocker($60), and chest Protector ($160) good?

Answer:
33+1 or 34+1 would be a good size. I'm 5'10 and wear 35+1 Vaughn Velocity 3 7500s. If your skating once a week than this is a good deal, because I wouldn't buy rbk 6ks unless I was playing house and skating 2-3 times a week. They will wear out too fast and won't last a full season if you play competitively and are skating 4-6 times a week. But since your not I think you should get them. They are real cheap to, my pads cost $1400, getting a pair for $200 is a steal. Get the whole set, the pads are the same as the rest of the gear, if you don't skate that often, they will last. Buy Them.

Question : Is it safe to wash ice goalie equipment in the washer?
i know not to wash the pads, but i wanna wash my blocker, glove, chest protector cause there starting to smell, i just recently bought goalie stuff and there not brand new haha...so i dont know...and do i have to hand dry them with like a hair dryer??

Question : Vaughn Hockey goalie equipment question....?
I currently wear Vaughn Velocity 3 7500 pads and I now have the difficult choice between the Velocity 7500 blocker+trapper or the Epic 8800 blocker+trapper... they look fairly similar, my colours will match perfectly, but what is a better set of gloves?? Keep in mind i will never buy a set that doesn't match!http://www.vaughnhockey.com/products/blocker.htmhttp://www.vaughnhockey.com/products/catch_glo ve.htmthanks!

Answer:
You wont buy a set that doesn't match? Your kidding right? They whole gig in being in the union is to keep the puck outta the bloody net, you don't get points taken off cause you look fashionable. Buy the one that feels natural to you.
